Newcastle Try To Hijack Transfer Deal – Rafa In Late Bid to Sign Senegal International

There is news today in Sky Sports that Newcastle are trying to hijack West Ham’s move for Osmanlispor attacking midfielder Badou N’Diaye who is 26 years old and had been playing in Turkey for two years now.

Within the last 24 hours, West Ham have been reported by the national papers to be very close to completing the signing of the midfielder but Sky Sports transfer reporter Kaveh Solhekol has tweeted a short three hours ago (from the time of writing) that Newcastle will come in with a late offer for the 8 times capped Senegal International.

26-year-old Senegal midfielder Badou N’Diaye

It seems a bit late for Newcastle with the Sun today reporting the West Ham officials are ready to travel to Turkey to complete the deal for the powerful forward.

And West Ham have been after this player for quite a few weeks now so if Newcastle were interested it’s a good question why we didn’t move for him earlier.

It doesn’t say we cannot still sign N’Diaye but West Ham have to be in the driver’s seat on this one.

N’Diaye still has three years left on his contract in Turkey and the transfer fee is said to be €10M which is around £8.8 with today’s exchange rates.

What do you think about this?

For those advocating that mitro should be sold and replaced with a ‘natural goalscorer’ will that not just leave us with a new striker and gayle for our striker position? Would be interested to hear who this natural goalscorer is in your eyes too as then it enables further discussion rather than just continually stating to sell mitro.

For what’s it’s worth, when mitrovic was bought he was unfairly (at his age) given the pressure of leading our line and keeping us up. Should he have been bought to compete with an experienced striker, I would have to say yes. Similarly, should he be kept and compete with gayle alongside the new striker to brought in, again I would say yes.

I think most agree that right now, mitrovic isn’t good enough to be our number 1 striker. The thing is that he is not going to be our number 1 striker so I don’t see why people get upset about it. A new striker will be bought and whether mitro is sold is dependant on the fee we are offered. I for one would much prefer to have gayle, mitro and new striker to compete rather than having gayle and 2 new strikers. Bearing in mind that we do not have the resources to buy two top strikers.

I’m in agreement with RA. I’d love to see Mitro stay and be given another chance in the PL.
He was under huge pressure last time as No1 and it’s very rare for a player to make a massive impact 1st season, there’s normally a settling in period.

The thing everyone has to understand with regard to players salaries.
When player say they fancy the PL – the main attraction is the dosh.
UK tax laws are unwavering – all football players pay top rate.
    Other nations are more flexible.
It’s not a level playing field.

I’d have preferred us to hijack West Ham’s deals for Hernandez or Hart. We should be focusing on proven PL performers.
