Rafa Targets £10M Rated Brazilian Central Midfielder From Napoli

Rafa Benitez of Newcastle is interested in signing 26-year-old Napoli central midfielder Allan –  according to a report in the Sun today.

Two other Premier League clubs are said to be interested in the player (who stands 5ft 8ins tall)  and they are West Brom and Southampton.

The U20 Brazilian Youth International was signed by Napoli two years ago from Udinese after three years at the Bianconeri Friuliani – and he has since played 82 times for Naples based club with 4 goals and 12 assists.

He is rated at around £10M.

26-year-old defensive midfielder Allan of Napoli

The Sun is reporting that Rafa is very keen to sign this player for Newcastle and he is keen to get the talented Brazilian in as soon as possible – especially with two other English clubs also interested in the player.

Allan operates primarily as a defensive midfielder but he can also play in attacking midfield and can operate between defense and attack at will – so in the way he is a versatile player.

He normally plays in defensive midfield and has good ball-winning skills and he’s said to be a good technical player who is a good passer of the ball with good speed too.

Sounds good to us.

🙂

Allan has been a first team starter for Napoli for two seasons now and he would seem to be a great addition to the Newcastle side for £10M

Rafa Benitez thinks this player can adapt quickly to English football after being outstanding in Serie A.

Allan played for the Brazil Under-20s back in 2011 alongside Philippe Coutinho, Alex Sandro, Oscar, Casemiro, and Danilo when they won the U20 World Cup in Colombia and it was the fifth time the Brazilians have won that tournament.

That’s the tournament England won this summer for the first time when we beat Venezuela 1-0 in the final and had both Freddie Woodman and Adam Armstrong in the squad.

What do you think about Allan?

Comments welcome.

To be honest mate when we got him in on loan I thought he was the missing link up front, Alas he dive-bombed big time as did Thauvin.
Don’t forget Xisco in that bracket either lol

They need to Learn to act Quickly and Decisively! I can remember at Least Twice when they have been beaten to the player by another Club! But then a lot of the links to certain players is just pure conjecture and the link is just pure Bullshit! I would prefer to learn about a Transfer and hear about it just before its a Done Deal ! I can understand if RAFA is continually getting Frustrated!!!

Yeah ya probably right there mate, But it doesn’t take away from the fact we had high hopes of going places.
McLaren stated that summer that there was exciting times ahead for Nufc and big money would be spent over three windows to get us where we should be.
We all know how that season ended, And the least said the better

Couldn’t agree more on Mitro he has the potential to be amazing what a waste of time his signing will be if we don’t give him a chance to thrive, it’s risky but if I was Rafa I would say to him rite u big C#@t your guna be our starting striker for the new season show me what you can do and if there’s no improvement by January bring in a new forward.

It may be a big gamble but we have goals in our team with ritchie shelvey atsu and Murphy.

If we do go out and sign a worldy though I won’t mind 🙂

Williamson on a free? He’s a step up from Taylor and clubs don’t get world-class players for nowt. His wages and agent fees’ll be enormous and might explain why the likes of Citeh haven’t gone beyond the initial enquiry stage.

But until Ashley guides his club to the levels of the European elite, we’ll just have to be patient.

    Bobby
You got it in one where the TOON start off with monies to spend

Bottom club Sunderland got £93.471m – more than the £93.219m 2015-16 winners Leicester pocketed the previous season.

Watford who finished 4th bottom got £102,704,194

Not sure how much we got for being Champions but it is well short of the Mackems – I think all told with winning the Championship and tranfer funds we had left adde up to £70 million.

Where-ever we start off miles behind just to catch up

Sky monies has totally screwed up football and I can see in the future say ten years if the difference between the Premiership and the Championship gets wider the Premiership having a meeting to say in such and such a year Promotion and relegation will cease as the club ending up botttom will loose too much.

As has been pointed out, mitro isnt the archetypal rafa striker. With our new wingers though, hopefully we will see some more runs in from the flanks to give him some support. While his strike rate hasn’t been great he has set up some nice play. Too often though he is isolated and runs into trouble with no outlets, trying to beat a man with the ball on the floor, which is not his strength

Sky money is an issue but also money from abroad for PL which is more than sky I believe. Overall this has completely skewed the PL finances of these clubs

Those figures show how much clubs in the champs could gain with some in house broadcasting capability. Could’ve made millions more showing home games on nufctv. I would’ve paid for each unbroadcasted game

Cheers I was not sure but it is a F**n JOKE
Mackems getting 93.471m for finishing bottom
We get £7 million for being Champions a difference of £86 million

    Watford £102 million
Us £7 million that is £95 million difference we have to spend on transfers and wages putting it in simple terms – HELL of a difference

The gulf between the prem and the rest of the epl is almost entirely down to sky’s greed imo. Surely if they have the rights to show the games from the lower leagues, then they should show more of them. You get 3-4 prem games every weekend, plus one on BT. If Sky are not going to show only one game a week in the lower league, then they should be picked up by local broadcasters, or as many on here have suggested, club tv broadcasts. The money gap is bad for football in general, and something should be done to close it

I don’t like that he stands only 5ft 8ins tall (can’t win anything in the air) but it’s his pass rate and movement on the ball that are key as we need someone to complement / compete with Shelvey as playmaker. Wouldn’t be surprised if we let Colback go if Allan is signed, Jack is slow on the ball and doesn’t fit with Rafa’s style of play. However, can’t see Allan coming for 10 M he has to be rated / bid up at least 15 M if both WBrom and Southampton are in for him (means there will also be some other European suitors) and what are his wages?

Hope the rumour we are letting Mitrovic go are wrong unless the money is being spent on another striker and not Rolans. Mitrovic is young with upside and a great sub if Rafa can keep him hungry for appearances.

So, I’m expecting yet another Sibierski/ Kuqi/ Fereyra etc. loan striker who contribute absolutely nothing as just an excuse signing.

I feel like it’s my fault for thinking anything’s going to be different this time yet again. Fool me once etc.

If we sign Rolan then he’s nothing more than a replacement for Gouffran. Yet he’ll no doubt be championed as a great new signing if he comes.

Mitro doesn’t fit Rafa’s plans unfortunately. This season especially it appears we will be sitting back and counter attacking. You can tell Rafa’s plan already from the signings and his comments. Manquillio, Atsu and Murphy are all very quick players and Rafa has been talking about bringing in pace down the flanks.

It’s for that reason Mitro will be shipped out I think. He isn’t a counter attacking striker in the mould of Gayle and when Rafa brings in another Gayle type striker Mitro will be 3rd down the list and won’t get the game time he needs.

In my opinion that’s a pity. He is very young and I think his hold up play is excellent and I think he is only going to get better. But most of his goals have been headed ones and that’s just not how we are going to play under Rafa.

Corky Mitrovic just has to manage his temper and he’ll come good. Otherwise he’s a Barton in the making. I’d keep him a sub unless Rafa sees he’s ready to take up the starting role from the pre-season friendlies.

Blofal – Rafa is known to believe in building from the back and appears to love wingers for sure but if they can play the ball into Mitro I don’t see why he wouldn’t be a fit. Perez already has pace down the flank and we have nobody else if Gayle can’t hit the net in the Prem in the way he did in Championship whereas Mitrovic (despite his temper and taking cards) has proven he can hit the net in the Prem so I can’t see why Rafa would ship Mitrovic out unless he’s got a replacement lined up and if that’s the case I hope it isn’t Rolans.

Bears remembering he did find the net last year when on the filed and that some players are better suited to the Prem than the lower leagues and I think the Serb is one of those.
