This Player Would Be A Superb Signing For Newcastle This Summer – If We Can Get Him

We reported yesterday on what appears to be a new target for Newcastle in 26-year-old Napoli central midfielder Allan who is a Brazil U20 International.

Allan Coutinho, Sandro, Oscar, Casemiro, and Danilo when Brazi won the U20 World Cup in Colombia back in 2011 so Allan has always been a top player.

Since the report came out and we have learned a lot more about this player he would seem to be an excellent buy for €10M (£8.9M) if we can get him.

26-year-old Napoli central midfielder Allan
Was this his reaction when asked if he wanted to sign for Newcastle?

Allan can play in defensive midfield as well in attacking central midfield and you have to have a lot of different skills to be able to play in both positions.

That’s a really versatile technical player who could either partner Jonjo Shelavy in defensive midfield or play in place of Jonjo because he has that creativity, speed and passing ability.

This is a player who no doubt Rafa has been keeping a watch on since he signed on at Napoli and his contacts there will have told the world-class manager he has been playing excellently in Italy.

In the two years he’s been at Napoli he has played 82 games with 4 goals and 12 assists.

If Newcastle can get this player into the club then he could improve under the expert guidance of Rafa Benitez. and we would have

And Newcastle would have brought in a real class player who would give a lot to the Newcastle team – some of that is real creativity which we sadly lack at the moment.

Take Jonjo out of the side and we have very little creativity or skill in central midfield.

Southampton and West Brom are the other two Premier League clubs who are interested in this player – but it’s time for Newcastle to be really aggressive and wrap up the signing of this player.

We should do whatever it takes.

We cannot miss out on this player.

What do you think?

On the negative side of this article, I will be amazed if the fee is as low as that. If it is, then this could be the bargain of the season.

Another day goes by without a signing it must be really difficult this window !

Clubs and Agents will be waiting to see if they can get the best deal for their players so it probably explains why the market is slow not just for us but plenty of other teams struggling to get who they need alright Huddersfield have signed lots of players but a lot of their players last season where loan players or short term so they had to sign a lot more players !

Might be a bit of a disjointed start to the season for a lot of teams as no one has managed to get the players in that they need just a shame we have Spurs first who still have a settled team but the rest of our first 8 fixtures I think could be winnable if we can get it together !

I spend a lot of time in Portugal, many Bebfica friends. Noone will miss Samaris. Very average. We should give it a miss.

Surely for a guy like this it would be worth going in with an offer above the 8.9 mill. quoted. Say 12 mill.
He’d still be a bargain, and it’s not as if we have overspent in the window to date.

Strange about Samaris. Quoted 13m for a player who is struggling to get into Greek team. Allan is a much better choice at the moment. But both do not have Premier League experience. How about Fernando ?

Greek players tend to be tenatious battlers rather than flair players. Maybe he isn’t suited to portugal. If this is the case, then he would certainly be worth bringing in. Allen (although not your traditional Brazillian exotic name) seems ideal. No prem experience, but has been playing in Italy which is a tough league.

    Morning all

Seems that we might be having a bit of activity in these coming days.

Ill be happy if we get Samaris and Allan. I also read that Rafa has enquired about getting Batshuayi in on loan, would’t mind that

This window has been so underwhelming. Cant believe we signed Manquillo, even the mackems thought he was shite wen he played for them. Its true that a lot of other teams have struggled to bring in players, but most of them already have a prem lge squad. If we dont bring in a good AM and a Proven CF i think we are looking at bottom 6 at best.
