Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez was disappointed with the defeat at Brighton today after Newcastle had enough chances to have won the game – but the game could have gone either way – it was that close.
And we came out on the losing side for the first time in four games.
There was a question about the Brighton goal since there seemed to be a foul on Mbemba when the free kick came over – but that sounds too much like sour grapes – so we’ll leave it there.
It was Tomer Header who acrobatically put the ball into the net after 51 minutes.
But it was poor marking by the Newcastle defense, and we could now see changes against Liverpool next Sunday afternoon.
That will be the last Premier League game (4:30 pm kickoff) before the two-week International break, so we don’t want to suffer another defeat in that match.

After the loss today this is what a disappointed Rafa Benitez told Sky Sports:
“We did enough to get a point at least,” “Both teams had chances. We had a lot of control and good chances at the end.”
“The goal for me was a foul, pushing and blocking. But you cannot change the decision.”
“We deserved more. We are still without too much experience in the Premier League. We have to manage these situations a bit better.”
It was a disappointing defeat, but we’ll get over it.
