The game at Liverpool on Saturday looks to be a very tough ask for Newcastle, but we played well for the full 90 minutes against Manchester United and the same for 70 minutes at Bournemouth last Saturday.
It was the last 20 minutes where we seemed to let our guard down, and the Cherries took advantage of that with two goals in the final 10 minutes to get the point.
🙁
We cannot let our guard down at Liverpool on Saturday because we could be taken to the cleaners if we do.
Rafa Benitez – cannot lose concentration even for one second
Rafa has talked about what it’s like playing against the top six clubs in the Premier League, as re[ported today in the Shields Gazette:
“When we go there, we just have to play like we did for 70 minutes against Bournemouth,”
“Hopefully, we will take the positives and the team will do the same things they did for most of the game.”
“You’re talking about teams who have players who can make the difference, and you cannot lose your concentration, even for one second, because you pay for that,”
“The point is to win these kinds of games, because maybe then you can manage the other games much more easily.
“Maybe we will have to keep going to the last game, but whatever happens, we will have to stay calm and make the right decisions every time.”
Given we needed 12 points to get to 40 points at the start of the Game at Dean Court, it was tragic after playing so well we dropped two points when they equalized in the last minute of regular time.
But that’s over now and hopefully, our players will learn that they have to play from the first minute to the very last in the Premier League.
It will be very tough to get anything at Anfield on Saturday where Liverpool have an impressive three players up front.
Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, and Mohamed Salah have been scoring goals for fun lately.
Liverpool are third in the league table, and if we can get a point on Saturday, it will be an excellent performance from our players.
That’s what we are hoping for, and every game is vital from now until the end of the season.
Another relegation would be another disaster for the club.

Comment #2It’ll be incredibly defensive with a few chances to score on the counter. I hope it works
