Newcastle Getting Closer To A Double Deal

It appears that Chancel Mbemba is on his way out of Newcastle having been signed by the club in the summer of 2015 from Anderlecht.

Unfortunately for Chancel, his first season was under Steve McClaren, and we were relegated after Rafa Benitez was unable to save us from the drop.

In that first season, he was one of our best players but he has not been given many chances by Rafa Benitez, and there seems to be no future for him at Newcastle.

He is ready to open talks with his former club Anderlecht according to media outlet Het Nieuwsblad in Belgium.

He is also wanted by Bundesliga club Hoffenheim who finished third in the league last season, so he has at least two good European clubs after him.

The report is that discussions on his personal terms will soon be underway and presumably a transfer fee has already been agreed between Anderlecht and Newcastle.

It could be a double deal between Anderlecht and Newcastle with the Belgian powerhouse also keen to sign Newcastle goalkeeper Matz Sels.

Matz was on loan last season at Anderlecht and had a good season back in his home country.

Anderlecht failed to qualify for next season’s Champions League, but they did qualify for the Europa League after finishing 3rd top of the Belgian First Division behind Club Brugge and Standard Liege.

What do you think?

There’s no debate that Ashley is to football what Hiter is to the Nobel Peace Prize. But with Ashley seeing the benefits of ending up in higher positions each year, he may very well allow the club to spend in order to gain more. This is what I mean by Rafa being the one to show him that there is a way to make money by becoming a successful club again. Our hope really is the TV deals, and the only man to drive us there is Rafa, and Ashley knows it.

Joselu recently lost his Nanna, anyone who calls him a bug eyed misfit who couldn’t hit a barn door is a despicable human being and should take his considerable pain in to account!

Posada from previous, I agree – sadly Ashley and his cronies look at the bottom line. You’d expect a club’s transfer business (including wage liabilities) to at best break even, more likely lose money as older players’ values deteriorate. Ashley wants to see a profit, which is why he holds control close to him.

Less about trust (although I have highlighted Ashley’s lack of trust in Rafa previously and agree it’s an issue), more about Ashley’s inability to grasp how sports finances differ from every other business sector.

Mbemba is a good player but obviously Rafa does not like him for some reason , he is better than Dummett, Manquillo and Yedlin , he will be hard to replace with the money we will get for him.
