Report – Benitez Linked With Move For £11M Rated Italian Central Defender

Rafa Benitez is reported by the Italian press to be interested in signing Gian Marco Ferrari, who plays for Sassuolo.

Ferrari joined Sampdoria last season on a season-long loan deal and had an excellent season playing 31 times with two goals on loan.

Calciomercato.it is reporting the 26-year-old center-back is interesting Newcastle and we will need to sign another central defender if Chancel Mbemba leaves us this summer after three years on Tyneside.

He is said to have agreed personal terms to return to Anderlecht although no fee has yet been agreed between the clubs.

Gian Marco Ferrari was born in Parma, and has played for several Italian clubs (9 clubs in total) in his career.

He started at his hometown club Parma and in 2013 moved to Gubbio where he stayed for one year before returning to Parma.

Ferrari moved to Crotone one year later and then to Sassuolo in 2016.

26-year-old Gian Marco Ferrari – Italian defender

He has been on loan at many clubs including lower league Italian clubs like Monticelli Terme, Crociati Noceto, Fiorenzuolaand, and Renate.

Premier League club Fulham are also reported to be interested in signing the 6ft 2ins tall defender.

Sampdoria Chairman Massimo Ferrero is reported to have an option to buy the Italian defender for €13M (£11.2M) as part of the loan contract but is trying to get a reduction on that fee.

Best of luck with that.

The player has certainly moved around a lot in his short career and in total has played 175 first team games with 8 goals and 14 assists.

What do you think?

Bill, my first thought the other week was ‘no thanks’ too. However, I gave it some thought and pretty much agree with what Jib says.
Whoever comes in has to accept that chances are, they’ll be third choice. That causes a problem if we go for a younger ambitious player – who would be my fourth choice type of player to push hard on Lascelles and Lejeune.
So we need experience and someone happy to sit in reserve. Maybe Skrtel could be that man?

Bobby, yes, granted – I’m getting ahead of myself. I guess I’m thinking of any transfer process in which it becomes clear we have an interest. This was a handy example but obviously may go nowhere and have no basis in fact at all.

On a positive note, looks like Merino is looking to knuckle down for next season:-

Chelsea have pulled out of funding their £1billion stadium development. They have no manager. Abramovich needs Israeli citizenship so he can get back into the UK. UK government wants to start looking at the sources of overseas investment into London. They have a dubious fan base.
If I was Kennedy I’d be up the road in a shot to where the love is.

A nice big cake of positivity at SJP at the moment.
We just need Mike to top it off with the cherry of a
nice shiny ( no strings ) contract for Señor Benitez
    sometime before next June.

    btw, are you named after

    1) Lochinvar a character in a poem by Sir Walter Scott?
    2) The Loch in D&G and thereby the place
    3) The Commercial Condensing Water Heater manufacturers of Lebanon TN, or the UK offshoot in Banbury?

Here’s a possible alternative if Kenedy falls through. Got to say, this lad has one hell of a delivery, whether from in play or set plays.

That’s one link I would love to see through. What a delivery. Imagine him and Shelvey in the same team?
You can argue it’s not the PL etc but when your great strength is the ability to find players during an attack, or from a free kick, it really doesn’t matter. It’s just another point on the pitch and all pitches are the same. I hope this a real.

Advice please. Just had a notice saying my connection to this site is not secure. Do not enter any sensitive material.
What is it? Should I be concerned? Not very tech savvy I’m afraid.

There’s also a CalMac Ferry in the Western Isles of the same name but you were right first time, after Sir Walter Scott’s Ballard,

That’s me in the photo on my white charger rescuing Amanda Staveley and bringing her to SJP . Well that’s what I dream of . Lol

One weird thing this window , because of the PL clubs vote
to stop activity once the league kicks off.
All PL clubs cannot sign a player after Aug 9 but they can still
sell players until August 31 but only outside the PL.

This could be a sticking point with Rafa’s people

The club could actually be in the red for 3 weeks in August

Chelsea’s. Abramovich, 51, has a fortune estimated at £9.3bn by The Sunday Times.

He sold his majority stake in oil major Sibneft to state-controlled Gazprom in 2005 for $13bn after buying Chelsea in 2003.

Since then he’s pizzed away a lot of dosh on Chelsea and now can’t get into the Country because he hasn’t a valid Visa .

I look at nufc360 a lot. They’re decent twitter account and just retweet or repost websites, links and tweets to anything Newcastle related. They don’t come up with rumours and paper talk. The pione sisto rumour came from la verdad. Think it’s a Spanish paper.

Pione Sisto reminds me of Sadio Mane we need someone like that with his pace and skill set could pay money for him and get Kennedy on loan? Would give us plenty of options in attack as much as we need a striker we also need midfielders who can create and score

Going back to Skrytl, what concerns me about him is that he’s always a red card waiting to happen and this likely to be get worse with as he loses speed cos of his age.

    Just googled the Bra’s

This thing you call ‘black half vest type’ is a GPS device that gives multifarious statistics like speed, acceleration, deceleration, heart rate, dynamic stress load among others !

This thing was developed initially to help manage players’ performances in training for rugby teams but it being a very versatile device is now being used by many top footballing clubs to bring out optimum performances from players, schedule their workload and set goals !

Taking the form of a small, ergonomic pod the weight of just two AA batteries, the Viper fits on a player’s back in a pouch supplied by the tight-fitting vest.
Each pod contains a mind-boggling list of components including four processors, a state of the art GPS module, a 3-D accelerometer (which determines direction as well as speed), a 3-D gyroscope (that locates balance and orientation), a 3-D digital compass, a long range radio and a heart rate receiver.

If recent reports are to be believed almost all clubs in the top flight of BPL in UK, La Liga in Spain and some other big clubs in top leagues use this device during pre season and training ! And it is known to have brought about a change in how medical science is closely related to sports these days !

    Can’t be very comfortable though!

Rumour is that Ashley wants all the fans to wear these GPS vests to monitor our blood pressure when watching the Toon, check on consumption of pies and beer to more accurately predict demand, view stress levels when his name is mentioned and to see how high the Rafaometer goes when his name is chanted.

If Ashley does right by Rafa, do you think Rafa will request the Toon Army resist the pleasure and indulgence of those rousing throaty renditions of “You Fat Cockney Bastard, get out of our club,” so the owner can actually attend games again.

I love that chant, good fun, particular when it’s sandwiched between the Rafa Benitez chant, but it’s never been at all diplomatic, and Rafa might think it appropriate to take a leaf out of Cloughie’s book and ask the gentlemen in attendance to curb there enthusiasm in this regard, should Ashley want to rejoin the party.
