Report – Newcastle In Serious Bid To Sign In-Demand 22-Year-Old Center-Back For £8M

There’s a report in Football Ghana that Newcastle United are well positioned and have made significant progress in their attempts to sign Ghana defender Kasim Nuhu for £8M.

The 22-year-old plays at center-back and stands 6ft 3ins tall and Rafa will be bringing in a central defender in this summer to replace Chancel Mbemba who is almost certain to leave the club after three years on Tyneside.

Nuhu has had an excellent season at the Swiss side Young Boys, whom Kevin Mbabu joined last summer and has also had a good season back home in Switzerland.

Nuhu’s form this season has attracted a number of top European clubs and Newcastle is said to be one of them.

The agents of the twice-capped Nigerian International have already started negotiations with Young Boys over a potential transfer of the player in the summer.

The report is that Newcastle are a club high on their agenda of potential destinations for their player.

Newcastle had representatives watching the Young Boys’ Champions League qualifying match against CSKA Moscow recently, and the Magpies are now considering a move for the youngster.

However, there will be plenty of competition for Newcastle both Tottenham and Huddersfield also interested in signing the star youngster.

But it does look as though Newcastle have made the most progress towards signing the Ghanaian International.

Last season Nuhu played 45 times for Young Boys with 3 goals and 2 assists.

Last October he scored on his International debut for Ghana against Saudi Arabia and Newcastle were first linked with this player last August.

Here’s the goals. Belter by Vierra from about 30 yards. Get on Arma’s set up for Tammy to do what Tammy does. Brilliant.
And his own goal, pouncing and giving the keeper not a hope in hell.
    HOWAY THE LADS!!!

That’s not a great stream but it’s all I can find for now. It does the job anyway. Worth watching all the same.

I think Arma definitely has potential and what bobby’s shared it would be ridiculous to not tie him down, he obviously has something as he’s been putting them in under the right managers for him, he might not fit our system at present but with his versatility now showing in the U21’s set up out on the left it would be football suicide to not have at least a buy back or a % clause in it. What harm is there when your practically gonna give him away. I also hope the right thing is done with him in mind from the club… He is still merely a kid

Oh no! Sterling has been rebuked by Southgate for partying in Jamaica and turning up A DAY LATE for training. . To think, he thought Jonjo would be disruptive to the group’s harmony and unreliable. Lame excuse and now what?

Rebuked. Which can mean anything. Go Gareth, off to a flier eh?

Lascelles, you can see the quality, thought process and huge potential in that one clip. The control and cross for Tammy was really clever and with his left foot. The goal with his right. Magic.

Didn’t realise how bad things were getting at Chelsea. This is wonderful news! One of the back pages has some mad headline about no manager, no owner, no stadium, no big stars etc. 🙂
Karma. Must be. Take the story away from us for a while at least. Oh what a lovely mess 🙂

I only caught a couple minutes of dyer on talksport but that was too much for me. He mentioned how the Newcastle team that qualified for champions league under Bobby had no top players other than maybe woodgate. I’m sorry but Shearer, not even worth arguing. Other players you can argue for being very good players but that is more subjective. Dyer, jenas, Bellamy are all idiots. That was clear when they were with us but even more so now their careers are over.

Which position has Armstrong been playing in? He seems just as good as Abrahams and has probably got more to his game all round.

It’s becoming pretty clear that apart from some
long standing transfer arrangements eg Dubs to NUFC
the PL clubs and major clubs around Europe aren’t going
to do much business until at least halfway thru Russia 2018.
May as well go on holiday until the end of June
    Oh just a minute 😀

I was just reading the Sports Illustrated, World Cup preview. Was interested in their preview of Serbia to see if they would mention Mitro. They did, but referred to him as “Fulham Striker Aleksandar Mitrovic”. Sigh….I keep hoping he will be welcomed back into the NUFC fold!

    Chico it’s a technicality
his loan contract with Fulham is until
June 30 merely because it was five months
    from Jan 31st
right up to the deadline sky were reporting he
    was going back to Anderlecht

I’m pretty sure when Germany knock
Serbia out of the WC that Mitro will fly
straight to Ireland to talk things over with
    Rafa and be assessed.

    Jib,
Not sure Serbia will make it out of the group stage to be knocked out by Germany. With Brazil, Switzerland and Costa Rica in their group many people are picking Switzerland to be the 2nd team to advance with Brazil. It would be nice if Serbia does advance however and Mitro scores a few…

It was against Norwich, one of the most boring games of football ever. My mate famously said to me Cisse doesn’t really bring anything to the team……before scoring the winner about a minute later
