German newspaper Hamburger Morgenpost is reporting that Josha Vagnoman has received what is called ‘a concrete offer’ to join Newcastle United this summer.
The 17-year-old has been tracked recently by a number of top clubs in the Premier League including Manchester City, Arsenal, Newcastle, and Chelsea.
The teenager moved to Hamburg from HSV back in 2010 when he was 9 years old, and he sees his future at Hamburg despite some offers starting to come in from some top English clubs – like Newcastle.
🙂
Josha Vagnoman has received a concrete offer to join Newcastle this summer.
Here’s is a piece taken directly from the Hamburger Morgenpost report:
“Newcastle United made a concrete offer, the English club have offered to pay him €5.3M euros for three years.”
“But Vagnoman trusts coach Titz and prefers to play in the second division instead of the Premier League.”
“He trusts to develop under Christian Titz and to take the next development step.”
So it doesn’t look like the teenager is keen to leave Hamburg.
Vagnoman is one of the best young players in Germany, and he’s the type of player Rafa, and the scouts at Newcastle are looking for.
He will not be cheap, but when Newcastle sign them as young players, they are a lot less expensive than they will be in three or four years time – assuming they develop as expected.
It’s ironic the youngster says he wants to develop under 47-year-old coach Christian Titz in Germany when Rafa is one of the world’s best managers in bringing out the very best in younger players.
It’s also something Rafa loves to do.
The youngster has been capped at Germany U17, and U18 level and great things are expected from the defender although he has yet to break into the Hamburg side having made one appearance so far.
It’s good news we are going after some top teenagers this summer and making bids for them.
Comments welcome.

Comment #44Cyprus…I wanted us to give Arma a chance last summer and even try him out in the beginning of the season, but I have to admit he’s really disappoint this season out on loan and it’s not like he sat the Championship on fire the season before!

Comment #47Arma won’t make it in the Prem! In fact I think he’ll struggle in the Championship; it’s not as though he’s 17 or 18 now is it?

Rob, well, he would know I suppose.
?
He was trying to stir the shyte yesterday between my and Lesh. Told him there was, no beef and explained it was humour, but no, he knew better and could read between the lines.
Then Lesh came on and put him right. A man might have apologised, but hey, no need to add to it really. Worra whopper.

Comment #56Jesper, I’d leave it if I was you. You made a complete dick of yourself and all your doing now is making a bigger dick of yourself.
Must be hard for someone who calls himself awesome to admit he was utterly and completely wrong.
Still, if you choose to embarrass yourself publicly, who am I to stop you? 🙂 It is becoming a regular feature so knock yourself out.
Like I said – a man would apologise. That was not me asking for one, or expecting one. The clue is in ‘man’, so completely rules you out you clown.

Comment #60Bobby – serious question – I have no agenda.
How good/effective is Arma tracking back?
He has largely overcome his size disadvantage in attack
but what about defence?
Point is – he will need to be effective, not just hardworking,
if he is to make it under Rafa.

Comment #64Have you read this from Ramos. Not only did he take out Salah with an arms wrestle but he concussed the Liverpool goalie Karius too…which may have been a part in the errors.
Now he is saying Salah could have continued to play and is having a pop at Firmino….

Think I’ve missed a load of buses today.
Been frenetic in the EGB household, got a chap in to paint the back of the house only for him to find that the rendering is badly blown and we now have to find a renderer, spent all of today looking, think we’re sorted now.
Anyway that’s enough of my woes, I see that the Wee Adam saga continues, I’d like to see him (if Rafa is still not sure) go back to Blackburn on loan again for 6 months and once he’s proved himself come back hand in hand with Bradley Dack. I reckon the pair of them will rip through the rest of the Championship.

Comment #68Buy a JCB Jesper. Save you all the trouble of digging holes. You were wrong. AGAIN. Get over it. Everybody gets it wrong ffs. Even awesome people 🙂
Let it go. You’re boring. It’s done and dusted. As we are. Christ, it’s not like I’m the first to say I don’t wish to converse with you, most the blog regulars beat me to it ages ago.
Move on. Stop bleating. It was over yesterday ffs. You made a mug of yourself and again, it’s not like it’s the first time is it?
It’s a football blog. Nobody wants to hear this so it’s over. Your ego must be planet sized if being wrong upsets you to this extent.
So, let’s agree to disagree and move on. I will never again converse with you and you do the same.
So you have the last say, I’m quite happy to let you. Get it off your breasts and then leave it. Say whatever makes you feel good and I promise not to reply. OK? I like to talk football, not bore the blog with pettiness.
So go ahead, have your final say as it’s so important to you, then do one. It was none of your business anyway. I was jesting with Lesh and he took it how it was meant. Why you had to stick your nose in is beyond me, but you were wrong regardless. WRONG. Not like it’s the end of the world.

Comment #70Essex. agreed…”the grass is always greener”, as they say. But in football, agents piss on the grass to make it look even greener and “big up” their players but after six months it often turns into a brown patch

Comment #79U can see it coming now. After Lee Charnley last interview to the media about a bloodbath. His next one will be about how nufc could have easily done a Aston Villa if not for his Daddy Mike Ashley.
Why trying to compete with the likes of Wolverhampton wanderers would be catastrophic financially for the club and only herald more pain and suffering to the supporters who deserve more

Comment #80Toonincheek, he’s the complete footballer mate. Spent most of his time at Bolton tracking back because he wasn’t played as a striker. Which explains the lack of goals.
He may well have to leave to pursue his own career and if so, good luck to him. But he is attracting attention now so he won’t be short of offers.
Just for me, when you invest in an apprentice you need to be the one getting the rewards. Two years on his contract still means there’s a chance to send him back to Blackburn working with a manager who gets the best out of him. If we sell him then fair enough, but we need a buy back option or a sell on fee.
Young English strikers bring in big money once they prove themselves. We’d be mad not to take advantage of that. He’s going to make the grade, I have no doubt of that, so it’s Newcastle who need to benefit, not somebody else.
