After such a good season, especially this year it’s hardly surprising that other clubs are interested in signing Ayoze Perez, the 24-year-old Newcastle forward who has now been at the club four years since signing from Tenerife for €2M.
There’s a report in Mundo Deportivo today that both Napoli and Real Sociedad are interested in Ayoze Perez – but the player is settled at Newcastle being coached by his famous compatriot – Rafa Benitez.
Real Betis are also tracking Perez.
Real Sociedad have identified two of Newcastle’s Spanish players – Perez and 21-year-old Mikel Merino as two top targets for this summer.

But we would be very surprised if Benitez even thinks of letting either player leave the club this summer.
Perez played in the deep-lying striker role last season and played well and then during the last several weeks of the season started to score some vital goals for the team.
He ended up as Newcastle’s top scorer with 10 goals – and 8 of those were in the Premier League.
There are some reports in Spain saying Ayoze is valued at around £18M but Perez is committed to Newcastle.
The forward has given a number of interviews recently in the Chronicle and he believes the team will only get better with Rafa Benitez continuing at the helm.
The Newcastle fans will no doubt agree with that assessment.
Now if only Mike Ashley would get Rafa to sign that new extended contract – we’d be in really good shape.

Aye Santon, sold for a paltry 1.5M while we had two fit defenders on the books in fear of him leaving for nowt at the end of the season, not the club’s fault though according to loyal Geordie John Carver.

Comment #3Do we believe this in the Sun ?
“Salamon Rondon is top of Rafa Benitez’s shortlist this summer
as he looks to solve Newcastle United’s striker woes.
The Spaniard is eager to hear good news from CEO Lee Charnley this week,
having asked him to meet the West Brom striker’s £16m release clause.”

Comment #4They both belong on Geordie soil, Especially Perez a proven asset to NUFC. Merino won’t be far behind when he gets a chance to shine.
