Exclusive Report – Newcastle Interested In Irish Center-Back

In an exclusive today, TEAMtalk are reporting that Newcastle are interested in signing Irish defender Sean McLoughlin.

The 21-year-old has a contract with Cork City that runs out at the end of the year, and he would probably be a cheap signing for the Magpies.

But Everton and Liverpool also interested in the player who has been outstanding for Cork City so far this season.

Newcastle scouts have been watching the youngster, and Rafa is always on the lookout for impressive young talent he can bring into the club and coach them to become first team players eventually.

Newcastle scouting 21-year-old Cork defender Sean McLoughlin

Sean McLoughlin is left footed and can play at either center-back or left-back, and he’s played 19 times for Cork City with three goals so far this season.

But TEAMtalk are reporting that Everton and Liverpool are well ahead of Newcastle in their efforts to sign the 21-year-old defender.

Rafa wants to improve the Newcastle squads at all levels of the club, and he is keen to have the U23 squad, in particular, have a lot more players who can push for a first-team squad position.

This is part of Rafa’s ambitious blueprint for Newcastle – if he’s allowed to implement it by our stubborn owner Mike Ashley.

“Townsend joined the Eagles from the Magpies in the summer of 2016, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £13 million, and he has gone on to chalk up five goals and 16 assists in 79 appearances for Palace ”

So we buy him back for £7million more than we paid for him – tosh, don’t think so

From previous i’d rate Townsend and Kennedy equal, however Townsend isn’t as one footed so is more versatile he is also English so comes at a premium. Kennedy however is way more likely to improve so it’s a close call. I’m not surprised that they are valued close to each other based on this. Either is an improvement on Murphy arrons and atsu. Although I think both Murphy and arrons can improve but only with game time.

Also i’m Still shocked we are reportedly going after a right back acording to reports. Surely it should be a left back as we have yed sterry and manquillo at rightback And only dummet and lassar at leftback

There can’t be anything in the Townsend thing surely? Isn’t this in the same Reheat and re-serve bin as Andy Carroll? No point in raking over old ashes it’s time to move forward.

    More random speculation.
He’s Irish and the links with Merseyside I would suspect are an influencing factor. Not least of all for family and friends who can nip over on the Ferry or into JL Airport. Signing for Liverpool but maybe not Everton is probably a dream for many youngsters. Suddenly NUFC are supposedly interested as a third choice club after the two on Merseyside. Whoever makes this stuff up must still be at school. Very elementary.

Have France taken any football players to this WC. All I see at the minute is a bunch of play actors.

Despite receiving £125m in prize/ TV money for last season, the clubs supposedly skint and can’t afford to buy decent players. And Ashley’s maintained a stony silence about Rafa’s desire to see investment to build on last season – in effect, easing him towards the door.

Assuming for the sake of a figure, that the average cost of an ST is £200 and that there are say 40000 ST holders, the club receives £8m from fans, fans are supporting the club to the tune of £8m a season.

In the meantime, Ashley’s refused to inject any of his own money to finance the club’s development and SD gets blanket advertising for nowt!

Interesting you mention carroll as I haven’t seen that inevitable lime yet.
100% kenedy over Townsend as everyones said Kennedy loves the toon Townsend doesn’t!

Also regarding this Croatian “wonderkid” cant tally up how many kids are dubbed to be wonderkids every season. Every year its “the something Messi” 10m for an unproven young lad is unbelievable. But then again if he came and proved me wrong id be more than happy

Anybody spotted Liverpool shaquiri link? 16m release clause yes he’s a midget but a better bet than Townsend at £20m surely even if hes selfish.

There are only two things I can’t stand in this world. Intolerance toward other people’s cultures… and the fxxxen French.

Aussies meeting them on the front foot, as you’d expect, and poised to deliver a black eye and a blood nose. Those gallic girlie types don’t fancy it one little bit.

Average visit of ST £200 ?
Guess that includes kids and concessions but nevertheless that seems a very low value.
Must be a figure out there for the actual revenue generated in a season by ticket sales at least for Premier League games and you can a few Cup games to that .
    Over to you Jib.

It’s the 15m nosebleed again. Once we hit 15 mill valuation the whole wages plus agent fee kicks in and we go cold. West ham Southampton Brighton etc have no such issues though? Mind u are west ham getting bigger crowds than us now?

We shouldn’t sell merino as he’s a good player we got for a bargain. If we sell him I can see him being sold for big money in future by Sociedad etc. Even Mitro could be worth more in a few years i.e. look at Rossi, Thauvin .. we are shocking at getting good money for players. We could have got Rossi on permanent cheap transfer from man utd if we gave him chance years ago.
