Report – Top Midfielder Close To Deal – Negotiations At Very Advanced Stage

Mundo Deportivo have again been reporting on Mikel merino’s potential move back to Spain, and it’s between three clubs – Real Sociedad, Real Betis and ????? with the San Sebastian club (Sociedad) in the lead.

The latest news is that the negotiations between the parties are at a very advanced after new talks have been taking place in the last few hours, and that’s according to Euskal Telebista, the radio and TV channel.

The Spanish press have been pushing this deal since last year, but we still don’t know how true it all is with Mikel on vacation over there in New York City.

Mikel Merino – in action last season

Here’s a piece we translated from the Mundo Deportivo report today:

“Merino returns from his period of rest at the beginning of next week and that would be when Real would finish the offensive for the Navarre midfielder.”

“In the meantime, it would only be necessary to resolve certain fiscal details that, while important, are in no case decisive for the operation to be subject to lurches – which are not expected today.”

“Athletic, according to this information,  have distanced themselves from interest in Merino by observing his approach to Real.”

“As this newspaper has been reporting, the signing of the former Osasuna player could be around a dozen million euros and Real would be willing to offer a long-term contract of 5 seasons to the player who currently belongs to Newcastle.”

“Next week could be decisive and, with Merino returning from vacation, it is not ruled out that  Real could announce the deal.”

We’re still not convinced this deal will go through.

What do you think?

Mike Ashley’s retail empire Sports Direct has sold off its stake in US retailer Finish Line for more than £34m.

Guess Mike will put this into his piggy bank which is a pity as he could use it to pay for his outstanding advertising bill at SJP

    Ouch
Mmm “well built foreigner” …..wonder which part of the UK he comes from then ?

Newcastle United footballer Ciaran Clark has reportedly been knocked unconscious in a Magaluf bar attack, according to local reports.

The Republic of Ireland defender – who played for England up to U20 level – is said to have been rushed to Son Espases Hospital in the Majorcan capital Palma after being punched in the face by a man he had previously rowed with.

Police arrested the alleged attacker, who was released on bail pending an ongoing criminal investigation following a court appearance on Monday.
Local paper Ultima Hora said the early-hours incident happened on Saturday at Crystal’s Bar in Magaluf and described the man arrested afterwards as a 6ft 2in well-built foreigner.

EGB, mon ami. It’s that time of year when the guys in gowns get together at a pile of stones and watch the sun come up. There’s surely not a more propitious time for chickens to hide and fear for their lives. Now is the time to gird the loins, sharpen the blade and get one of your special runes to our oh-so-special owner.

If you need a human offering, I’ll send you some freshly clipped toenails by special delivery. If that’s not enough to motivate you, I don’t know what is.

Even if Ashley has funded deals in anticipation
    of the TV dosh.
They cannot be announced until July1st because
    of FFP rules.
I think it’s no coincidence that our preseason in Ireland starts
two days after the WC final.
I expect to see some new faces at Carton House

How many players are we interested in or supposedly making a bid for today? Pure fiction the lot, its so boring watching all these stories being fabricated by so called reporters desperate for a pay check
