World Cup Midfielder Wants To Join Newcastle – Wages Agreed

Fotomac are reporting that Stoke City central midfielder Badou Ndiaye wants to move to Newcastle this summer.

The 27-year-old only moved to Stoke last January when the Potters paid £14M for him from Galatasaray.

Newcastle were reported to be interested in the Senegal International before he moved to Stoke, but we couldn’t afford the £14M fee.

Maybe we can afford that fee now, and it helps that Ndiaye – currently in Russia with the Senegal World Cup squad – wants to join Newcastle and Rafa Benitez.

27-year-old Stoke City midfielder Badou Ndiaye

He was an unused substitute in Senegal’s s surprise 2-1 win over Poland yesterday – sorry about saying the score was 2-0 – and I watched the full game!!

The report is that Newcastle have made an offer to Ndiaye and the player likes the terms we have offered him.

But as usual, Newcastle have so far been unable to agree on a transfer fee for the Senegal International who has 16 caps for his country.

Why is that not a surprise to us?

Everton are the other club interested in signing the player.

His former club Galatasaray want him back in Turkey, and they are waiting on the sidelines to see what happens with Newcastle’s negotiations.

The Turkish club may have to wait some time to find out with Newcastle moving at a snail’s pace again this summer.

Galatasaray want to take Ndiaye on loan for the season.

This year Badou Ndiaye played 13 times for Stoke with two goals and an assist.

I read a report the other day that wolves have bid £22m for him. Not sure how truthful like and supposedly he has a relegation clause. Did quite like the look of him though.

Spoof, you misunderstand me mate. The BS I refer to is the press, not people expressing who they would or wouldn’t like. Along with us ‘missing out’ on players, we didn’t have any interest in to start with.

    Doomsday (or perfect storm) scenario:-

Rafa doesn’t have a penalty clause come July 1st (it was only for the first 2 years of his three year contract that expires on June 30th next year).
Spain don’t get to the semis of the WC

I think you know where this is going, but hope I’m wrong.

Jail, apparently this comes from Turkish press, who we all know have a direct link to Rafa. 🙂

Right, gonna go watch the footy. Might be a, few Morroco players we’re going to get linked with if they have a half decent game. 🙂

Probably not going to happen at 14M. Ashley won’t be having any of that. Extravagance! Surely Rafa can find someone just as good for 5M ?!?

Truth is, he is not a whole lot better than what we have, certainly not Shelvey and probably not a revitalised Diame, but he could be a Merino replacement).

So, NUFC shell out 14M, all up front, while we get 10M for Merino, but over a four year term ! And, all that happens on the last day of the window. Ashley is a joke, if he thinks that is a good way to run a business.

Yeah I get that, but generally, and I don’t mean yourself but some do refer to the links as B.S., the thing is I agree that the links are sceptical at best, but none the less all it does is give us something to chat about, no harm done, look at Jail on comment 1, is he correct, yeah, probably but is the harm of expressing whether or not you would like us to sign him, I understand how tedious these links are, but at this time of year it’s all we have, so why not just crack on with our wishful thinking or worst fears depending upon the link.

‘Probably not a whole lot better than Diame’

I’m struggling to think of a better player in Diames position than Diame right now. He out Kante’d Kante and made Yaya Toure flee the UK in fear of being Diame’d

    What a bloke

Bobby (#6) – there is no ‘anybody’s guess’ – we have one more delightful Rafa-inspired year, then he gets to leave with our blessing and a few tears – to be followed with decline, disastrous managerial appointments, relegation, attempts to sell, player desertions, ridiculous player trades, more disastrous managerial appointments, more attempts to sell, further decline, double relegation (while we watch the ascendency of Sunderland back to the land of light and glory), and finally a sale, with no players of worth left, huge debts (owed to Ashley), Ashley still owning all the advertising rights at the ground, and Ashley (having stripped the clud of its assets) announcing a big development of Strawberry place to finally kill off any dreams of rebuilding the stadium right. And the sale, …will be to another company also owned by Ashley, except he makes a loss on the sale that saves him a squillion in tax credits.

Looked a decent player in the making and no adapting to the league required. Straight replacement for Merino.

lets be honest, we’re not going to see any signings in June – not only does our financial year run July 1st – June 30th, but also why would Penfold agree to pay the wages of players who are either playing in Russia (and might get injured) or sat on the beach watching the world cup – of course, other clubs face the same challenge but they know that it’s more important to have new players signed and ready to start pre-season than to be quibbling over paying a couple of weeks wages and risk missing out – I’m sure if FCB could get away with it he’d put all players on zero hours contracts and only pay them for their actual time on the pitch.

Wow that’s two midfielders in two days we have agreed some type of fee for, how many midfielders are we going to sign this summer. From the math its looks like we have 7 possibly 8 coming within the next few weeks. God Newcastle are pulling out all the stops to cover the midfield.
