Good News On Rafa Who’s Eager To Sell Players – Will Wheel And Deal To Improve Squad

Rafa is now back in Newcastle and preseason training will start on Monday and Newcastle have now managed to push through the “free transfer” of 29-year-old South Korea captain Li Sung-yueng.

Rafa has to sell players this summer and the Shields Gazette are reporting today that Rafa has no problem with that and he is willing to wheel and deal this summer to improve the quality of the Newcastle squad.

Rafa can sell players to bring in extra transfer funds and he has £40M – £50M in addition to that to spend.

Rafa Benitez – willing to wheel and deal this summer

Rafa now wants to work on selling players like Aleksandar Mitrovic, Matz Sels, Chancel Mbemba, Achraf Lazaar and Jack Colback.

The Gazette reports that early in the summer owner Mike Ashley wanted to know which players Rafa wanted to sell – so that doesn’t exactly point to Rafa being in charge of who he can sell.

But maybe that’s reading too much into what Ashley wanted to know.

What Rafa wants is to be able to sell and buy players as he sees fit – and that seems to be a reasonable request.

Rafa will resist selling and/or want massive fees for specific players he doesn’t want to sell like captain Jamaal Lascelles.

And several clubs have already enquired about Matt Ritchie and Dwight Gayle and if they are sold Rafa could generate £30M from those transfers.

But he will not want to lose either of them and certainly not Ritchie – but you never know.

Rafa also wants a smaller squad for this season so he may offload more players who are currently on board at Newcastle than we are expecting.

There are now less than six weeks left in this transfer window so Newcastle need to click into top gear quickly.

It helps that some players have now returned from the World Cup with the group stage now over and the knockout rounds start today.

From last thread fella (and I am not sticking up for DubaiMicky) it was me who reported it was a Mega MEGA rich Prince with links to oil and gas who was in for buying us.

I still believe he was the backer for Stavely but I am not going back there now

If the contracts of Colback, Lazaar etc have been written off against tax in the 2016-17 accounts, does that mean Rafa has free reign to sell? It will not matter what price he achieves in order to free up places in the squad, although whatever money comes in can be available for purchases (to quote the owner).

Howay Jail surely part of the joy of this blog is reading itk information? Probably 90% of it turns out to be bollix but I wouldn’t take people to task over it because of the 10% that turns out to be correct!

Ritchie is one I thought could leave this window, his performances over the full season weren’t great and I could see Rafa looming to upgrade or find someone to really push him for his place.

The striker and no10 are what I’m most interested in seeing, maybe end of the window for them.

Of course Ashley wanted to know which players Rafa’d be prepared to sell. After all, Ashley wants to add to the quality players we’ve got, not sell ’em. (it says here)

If Rafa now wants to work on selling players like Aleksandar Mitrovic, Matz Sels, Chancel Mbemba, Achraf Lazaar and Jack Colback and we’ve made no bids as yet, one would expect Ashley to ask Charnley just what the hell he’s been doing for the last few weeks.

Interesting last point, lesh, except Ashley is on holiday, barfing in someone’s fireplace, and couldn’t give a flying french fart.

That s a bit better news that Rafa wants to do the wheeling and dealing and not Fatman. He is looking to stay if he is starting to adjust the squad. THANK GOODNESS !
