Three Good Signings For Rafa – We Need Three More – And Six Players Still To Leave

It was a big lift for fans when Newcastle announced today that Robert Kenedy has signed on for a season-long loan deal.

It will be interesting to see how he does this coming season and how good a player the Brazilian is by next May.

That’s the third of Rafa’s signings this summer following goalkeeper Martin Dubravka and free agent Li Sung-yueng, who is an experienced replacement for Mikel Merino, who will soon be joining Real Sociedad.

So if Rafa can bring in at least one striker, a full-back and a central midfielder who can play in the number 10 position that would be a very decent transfer window.

Rafa Benitez – putting together a better Newcastle team for the coming season

Newcastle will then be a stronger team than last year.

We would like to see a couple of strikers brought in with Aleksandar Mitrovic almost certain to be sold to Fulham this summer.

But under the constraints of limited funding, Rafa and Lee Charnley have done quite well so far this summer, with exactly four weeks left before the window closes on August 9th.

So we expect it to be a very busy four weeks because we have to move a number of players out.

Newcastle are likely to want Mitrovic, Mbemba, Colback, Saivet, Aarons, and Lazaar off the wage bill for next season.

Newcastle would prefer permanent transfers but may have to do with season-long loan deals for some of the players.

But even without the 100% support of Mike Ashley, Rafa is slowly but surely molding Newcastle into a top side.

We should be much better in the coming season and not be involved in any relegations scrap.

Thank goodness for that!

We have the perfect manager for Newcastle at the club in Rafa Benitez so the lads could maybe shock us in the coming season.

I’m all for that.

Jean Michael Seri to newly-promoted Fulham for almost twice our record transfer (transfer reported to be around 35m) and we are still continuing to be OK with stating that Newcastle has a ‘limited transfer budget’?!?!? It’s bollocks. No wonder Rafa hasn’t signed an extended deal.

Hahahaha – barkel – not beaten you since the 80’s – you boys cannot help yourselves digging up the past.
    Look to the future man!

The way football is evolving in various nations nearby does at this time give me some confidence that when we do meet in the future – you mischievous leprechauns will have to eat your words. I can sense that sound being heard all over England.

Put into perspective we have to realise that the transfer window is like a one off deal at the sales. When its gone you are left with the bargain basement rejects, like its been for years. This is why Rafa cannot shift the dross accumulated over so many failed signings from poor managers. Looks like its going to continue. 🙁

It’s good to know how history shaped our societies but it’s a shame when it’s done in such a way as to prolong lasting resentment among a generation who were never alive when these things happened.

Time moves on but people don’t it seems.

Wish we were in for Mina the Columbian CB. He will storm the PL but looks like Everton are already in there.

Rotonda, I’d take Vida the Croatian CB too – he’s been impressive throughout the tournament and is playing for Besiktas so presumably not on massive wages
