Birmingham Live are reporting today that a deal to loan Salomon Rondon to Newcastle and get Dwight Gayle in return could be happening.
Both players have been left out their squads for today’s friendly games, which could be an indication that an agreement has been reached between the clubs.
Well, that only took a little more than a couple of months.
đ
Birmingham Live had reported this morning that Newcastle had returned to the table for further talks over Rondon, who manager Rafa Benitez still wants at Newcastle for next season.
Newcastle cannot afford to buy Rondon this summer, but if there is no change to his contract, he will become a free agent next summer.
Dwight Gayle does not want to leave Newcastle, and the wages offered to him were not sufficient to get his to leave Newcastle permanently since he’s happy at the club.
So perhaps this is good news for Newcastle and Rafa can get his man at last.
We shall see.
Comments welcome.

Comment #6Need a LB and a CB to replace Leguene.
Plus another 3 of Rafas choice.
For a 26 man squad of decent players.
Scrap Saviet and Lazaar.
Pay them up.
Saviet I have some sympathy for.
However, the signing of Lazaar was a disgrace. Can’t play at all.
Will never understand that one. Will it ever be explained.

Good news is that theyâve had their Visa requests turned down for Ascension Island so no danger of trouble in paradise.
NASA are looking for recruits for an expedition to Mars. That sounds way more promising.

Regrets I’ve had a few
But then again too few to mention
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption

Comment #19stream is like our team: crap! will be 0-0 all over it.
we need a nr 10, an upgrade winger on ritchie and acts, a RB and a LB our else we’ll be relegated again. Even with Rafa as manager.
Joselu, Perez, atsu, dummett, Hayden, yedlin are NOT GOOD ENOUGH. this aint Newcastle united.

Comment #37If we are really after the left back at PSG, N’Soki. Sign him up if we can, no hesitation. Very good young player with lots of potential. PSG still want him but he doesnt have a pro contract so can leave and wants first team football. Kid just had a great game v monaco too.
Dont know about the young striker from Lyon but it doesnt make sense to sign him and let go of armstrong without giving him an opportunity. Shame about that.
