Report – Newcastle Close To Getting Barcelona Center-Back On Loan For Season

Sport are reporting that Newcastle will pay a €2M loan fee for Barcelona center-back Marlon Santos and he will come to Tyneside for a season-long loan.

pHe has played 3 times for the Barcelona first team and stands 6ft tall.ending the player obtaining a work permit. The Brazilian was on loan last season at Nice in Ligue 1 where he played 27 times and it looks like the deal will go through ending the player obtaining a work permit.

He has played 3 times for the Barcelona first team and stands 6ft tall.

Sport say the deal is not yet done and Newcastle will not have an option to buy but Ashley will pay €2M for the season so for the owner it’s a good deal.

22-year-old Barcelona center-back Marlon Santos

Sport reports the player has been part of the first team squad at Barcelona this summer and played a role in their preseason matches on their US Tour.

He has played 12 times for the Brazilian U20 side.

Santos is available because Barcelona signed 23-year-old French U21 defender Clement Lenglet from Sevilla and there is no room for Marlon in the Barcelona squad this season.

The 22-year-old Brazilian signed for Barcelona last summer from Brazilian club Fluminense and we suppose he will come in to fill the gap left by the serious injury to Florian Lejeune.

But we cannot see him getting many first team games unless he can push his way past Lascelles, Clark, and Schar.

But it’s good that we will have a fourth center-back at the club next season.

It’s a pity Rafa couldn’t get an option to buy him in the loan contract – just in case the manager improves the player next season, as he did earlier this year rather dramatically with Kenedy – another Brazilian.

Comments welcome.

it’s pre-season, there isn’t a great deal to talk about so it’s inevitable their will be childish bitching and occasional nastiness. although i admit last night seems a bit worse than normal. ive had to read through 20-30 minutes of jib is a cross dresser, now all we need is the hilarious picture. i think the blog vs jib has really suffered in terms of wit since tsunki left. we’re scraping the barrel now, what else can we call jib? has anyone tried anti-semite yet? that’s usually a good one. no evidence needed, its 2018, anything will do. just say it loud and say it often.
this blog would die if jib wasn’t here to offer an alternative view or play devils advocate or whatever he does. ive said it before, jib could be Ed standing behind a curtain, stirring things up to keep his blog going haha

TNMW, good point. And we need jib at his best today, transfer deadline day. Its likely we will get nobody, surely more likely than us getting anyone, given our history on transfer deadline day.

    TNMW @161

I’ve been reading this blog (religiously) for the last 10 years, although I only posted for the first time a couple of weeks ago.
While from a poster perspective I have no intention of getting involved in any scraps / feuds / duals etc…etc…
From a reader point of view, these scraps / feuds / duals are pure entertainment and are far from detrimental to the blog, they are the lifeblood of it.
I think I remember JFA posting something along the same lines a couple of days ago – that he knows peaople who read this blog because of the arguments
You can’t deny that when a disagreement breaks out the number of comments increase!

The downside is that sometimes things get too personal, but that’s just the passion of NUFC fans 🙂

Maybe that’s the issue NY Mag…those who post regularly for most parts find the arguments a distraction and too personal and those you watch from a far crave the entertainment and even at times throws gasoline on the fire just to watch it burn…like our very own Mag P and Offkey

…the truth of the matter is plenty of old posters have left and they are not coming back…some might leave a comment once in a while!

11 hours 5 minutes to go before the initial transfer window shuts.

We can still sell/loan to clubs abroad mind you, but we can’t bring players in if I recall.

yeah but some, such as last nights, you feel a bit annoyed that you have read and wasted 20-40 minutes of your day on schoolboy humour. some arguments/ debates are great especially if theres a meltdown, but others can go on far too long. it’s funny that it is one man vs half the blog though.

I must admit I did have a little chuckle last night when jib was getting a taste of his own medicine.

The level and amount of abuse he’s handed out over the years the years is quite remarkable, a lot of it un repeatable.

It was only a few years back that no one would post on the blog after 7 at night due to Jib and his side kick attacking and abusing any fan who posted. Abuse about their views or that blogger in general, it was like a campaign to ruin the blog.

Jib is ugly enough to look after himself, last night seemed like banter to me. I’m sure he’ll be back and it won’t of bothered him one bit, where there’s es no sense theres no feelings.

some bugger we’ve never heard of
    Myzaine Maolida
    Danny Ings
    Federico Fernandez
    Jairo Riedewald
    Christopher Jullien
    Ivan Cavaleiro
    Sikou Niakate
    Marlon Santos

    On the last one.
I’m not 100% sure but I think as long
as the two parties agree a fee a players
registration can be transferred on time
for the PL window SUBJECT to a work permit.
If the application fails Marlon’s reg.
will simply revert back to Barcelona as
Spains window is open until months end.

how this window ends is very important

just say for instance 2 major signing are made today the fans anger will evaporate very quickly

if no signing are made or better still 2 that the fans in general consider poor it will intensify the the resolve to protest
if Ashley is feeling the heat and i for one don’t think he is, today will be the day for surprises if he’s not then today will be a normal window were we feed on the scraps

I’d love it to be a perfect day for Nufc today.

I shall not even mention the Lord of the darksides name today, that perfect day would involve him selling.

I hope jibs right and we sign someone, especially up front as we lack goals. Hibbits right a couple of signings could sway people’s opinion.

Even if we get 2 half decent signings in today I can’t see Rafa staying, too little too late and if anything done it’s panic not planning.

I can’t see us do anything today, rushed and expensive and not what Nufc do.

That’s why as many people as possible should turn up in Northumberland st on Saturday.

If there’s enough people there and it disrupts not only people going to SD but trying to get to other shops then it’ll cause bother.

Other retailers won’t want to be affected by SDs problems, then he’ll get it in the neck off others, then the police presence.

    Jane at 151 re no10.

It is almost certain Rafa will play a 4411 and at the moment we have Perez who in my opinion does not have the creativity and vision to play in that role effectively. He is much better as a st in my opinion with clever movement and decent finishing ability in the box. He hold on to the ball far too long and does not spot the pass. We have much more cover for striker yet we are constantly talking about that position. A good no10 in the mould of a David Silva (same ability/level would be nice 🙂 ) would completely transform this team and should be clear priority above any other position.

Saying that I don’t know if Muto can play the no10 as not seen him play but I read something saying he is not a no10 he is a striker so again why are we making another striker a priority if that is the case.

    New no10 (Juan mata available??)

The above would make me happy today 🙂
