Sky Sports Pundit Tips Newcastle For Relegation This Season

Sky Sports Soccer Saturday pundit Charlie Nicholas doesn’t seem to be a fan of Newcastle and last season he panned the club a few times as a Championship club, but we survived and finished in the top half of the Premier League,

But Nicholas still doesn’t think Newcastle have brought in the quality we need this summer and tips us for relegation next May.

Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas – thinks Magpies will be relegated

Here’s what the pundit has said about Newcastle:

“Newcastle are right on the edge of it with what has been going there this summer.”

“They did well to get the money they did for Aleksandar Mitrovic but they still can’t get quality in, although I do like Kennedy.”

“The only thing keeping this club together is the relationship between the fans and Rafael Benitez.”

“But I genuinely hope I’m wrong with fearing it could all fall apart.

On a much brighter note Sky Bet has the following clubs as favorites to be relegated:

Cardiff 4/6
Huddersfield 11/10
Fulham 15/8

Newcastle are 8th on the list at 5/1 behind Watford, Brighton, Burnley, and Bournemouth.

So there’s hope yet.

🙂

So what really is the excuse for not spending any money ?

Is he paying back his loan ?
Is it because of a sale?
Is it because its been spent on Debenhams and House of Fraser?
Is it because of Rafa not signing a new deal?

Apart from a sale the rest of the reasons look very suspect and he should be investigated as there is no real logical reason for doing it apart from either very petty or dodgy business reasons

Well, I guess I’m saying Ashley knows there’s enough there to stay up, and anything more will be largesse from the owner in lieu of Rafa ultimately coming to the table and signing on again. I assume both have their bottom lines and plan b’s.

What these teams going out and buying players haven’t been accounted for is the lack of profit sitting in the back. This will come back and bite them on their backsides. Wait until the accounts are released in 2019 then they’ll see…they’ll all see!

    @Munster

That is the saddest thing about it !!! He will get off the hook for this but the FA need to step in for these greedy owners just using clubs as cash cows especially when they show no sporting ambition

Every other team is adding to the product of the premier league by trying to improve every year apart from us ! Spurs haven’t bought anyone but they have a new stadium so are still progressing we haven’t even a proper office for the scouting team!

Charnley could be forced to prioritise his in tray during the remaining hours of the window. Though he’s probably been given some helpful advice on how to manage what could be a heavy load.

Faced with trying to decide what’s more important between incomers,(incl work permit matters etc) and outgoings……

He’s probably told the medical group to stand down – no point hanging around!

Of course MA is taking money out of the club, in two ways, a private account will be getting healthier you can garentee that and he costs us a fare lump in his advertising.

Fat bags might also be pocketing the cash for the end of this season. He knows that our squad will have enough to stay up and if the club hasn’t been sold he’ll offer rafa big summer and training ground/academy revamp. Question is. Would rafa still stay?

Either way fat bags is a greedy obese pig who lies through his teeth. I’m surpised there hasn’t been a double spread in a paper on this pantomine prick and all his lies. Banner should be in the works

Some of those club’s that’ve spent may well come a cropper but you’ll not see their published accounts for this season until 2020 by which time some of them will be further strengthening while we, under Ashley sink deeper towards oblivion.

Looking at wolves signings – there are a couple of decent players in there and they are really showing ambition, but none of them are proven in the prem. If their team doesn’t gel immediately I could see them doing a QPR.

Fulham on the other hand have made lots of decent signings with PL experience – schurrle, Mitrovic, mawson, chambers – as well as some quality from abroad. They will do well this season

And then there’s us. We will do better than a lot of people expect simply because we have one of the best managers in the league. But the fat twat just depresses me. Come on Usmanov – liberate us please!

“the penny has dropped.” Not sure how you could ever really pin Ashley down in that regard. He always has an out, and he’s worth 3 million quid, so beyond not wanting to put his own money in or pay for his advertising, which we all know, what does it mean? I’d add inexpert in running a club like Newcastle, but that’s as far as I’d go.

I honestly could not blame Rafa for walking out, dropping his phone and dusting his hands. He’s too much of a gent to do that to the fans and the players, but must look in the mirror and wonder what the Hell he’s done to deserve this.

“As it stands..Net spend! West Ham £106 million more than us, Fulham £96, Wolves £92, Brighton £77, Huddersfield £60, Bournemouth £57 and Cardiff £56 million… absolutely f@cking laughable and disgraceful”

    What is ‘absolutely……disgraceful’?

The fact that six Premier League clubs, that the bookies consider the most likely to contest the relegation places, have all decided to risk everything, financially, to stay in the Premier League.

…or, That NUFC haven’t ‘bet the farm’ on the race to the bottom. Spending skip loads of money has never guaranteed quick success in football. Most of the clubs mentioned will have to integrate about 10 new players into the dressing-room, good luck with that.

First thing this morning I heard that Ashley had relented, he was releasing substantial funds, and was involving himself personally in the transfer of Wellbeck!

I couldn’t think of a worse news story to start the last day of the transfer window.

Whatever the weaknesses of our current squad, real or imagined, introducing a player like Wellbeck to the team would be a disaster!

The greatest strength of the team, going into a new campaign, is it’s unity, it appears the dressing-room is a happy, harmonious sanctuary. That’s not always been the case.

If we don’t sign any more players by the end of the day, so be it, especially if Danny boy is not here.

I am definitely not an Ashley apologist. I despise the man, not just for his behaviour during his ownership of NUFC, but the the type of ‘business man’ he represents. His success is based almost entirely on lies and deception, buy a once famous business that has fallen on hard times, plaster the brand logo on cut price tat, and sell the snide products to a gullible public.

That strategy will work, at least once, for a pair of Chinese gym shoes with a Dunlop label, but never for a sporting business, such as a famous football club.

TyneMouth, the thing I find absolutely disgraceful is the lack of backing given to Rafa. I agree that money can’t necessarily buy success in football, especially when everyone is spending big, but spending on quality in the right areas on players carefully selected and researched is a different matter and has been singularly lacking this window.

What I will say is that the players we have brought in look to be Rafa acquisitions, rather than the likes of past windows which have been bought in to satisfy some management-set criteria without any input from the Manage, whoever that was at the time. Hopefully they will settle quickly, improve the squad and give Rafa something to work with.

What’s the problem with Wellbeck? Runs around, scores goals, has quality, team player, as far as I understand it. What am I missing? I think he’d be a great if very unlikely acquisition. I suppose to get him you’d have to pay big wages, which might unsettle the group, but other than that what are the negatives.

I couldn’t agree more mate.My point is that fans of today are comparing us to teams coming out of the Championship,And teams that they see as Relegation fodder. And that is what Ashley has instilled into a fan mentality because most including me see no ambition or and signs that Mikey boy wants success for the club.
