As part of the remainder of this transfer window, some players from Newcastle will be allowed to go out on loan.
We have a number of the younger players who really need first-team playing time next season.
One of those players is right back Jamie Sterry who was on loan this year to Crewe Alexandra but with the Yedlin injury, there was some doubt about that.
However, Newcastle have just announced the American’s knee injury is not serious and he will return to training shortly.
Victor Fernandez – likely to go out on loan
Center-back Josef Yarneyo joined Morecambe last week, so he should get playing time in League Two this season.
England U-21 International goalkeeper Freddie Woodman desperately needs to go out on a full season loan to get first-team experience.
He’s one youngster who has a decent chance to come through to challenge for a first-team starting position in the future.
Other U-23 players who will likely go out on loan are Callum Roberts, Victor Fernandez, and Dan Barlaser – and all three seem to have Football League clubs already interested in them.
The first two were with the first team squad in preseason training and played in the friendly games – and both did well.
What do you think?

Haven’t been on the blog for a wee while, come back and it feels like I’ve stumbled back in tine onto the set of Get Carter.
Thought for a moment Carter might be a striker that Rafa wanted but apparently not.
Looks like the squad is going to be very lean with all the outgoings.
Anyone going to Cardiff ?

I used to run around in a Big old vintage green Humber.. It had a brass plate in it that said it was the car that was used in Get Carter. And it was …!

Comment #87That car is long gone Lochnivar..it was Humber Super Snipe I recall, but you wouldn’t call it that back then…I took no notice of the fact it was used in Get Carter ..didn’t give a damn back then ,wish it was still in the family. Wonder where she is now ?
I didn’t even think of it as vintage… my interests were only Music, Football, Women , Drinking . In that order.

Comment #103Wasn’t there more to it than just Pedro making one racial (ignorant) remark? Wasn’t it also about bullying type behavior that are not considered acceptable by today’s norms? Weren’t there more players than just El-Mhanni filing the complaints (or backing up his) and some youth players have left our system apparently, in part, because of this?
Maybe it’s just Beardsley isn’t cut out to be a development coach in this day and age – a product of his times. And I’m inclined to accept that he said things perhaps out of ignorance and not racist intent. But they still could be deemed unacceptable and grounds for dismissal. It’s all a shame but the best thing for the club is to have him retire.
And his record with the youth in terms of results and player development were probably reason to look to move him out anyway. Long overdue just on this basis.

Comment #104Skimming through today’s blog, I noticed someone posting an enquiry regarding the Kray twins in Newcastle.
It must have been Summer 1965, 53years ago! don’t time fly…
I left Newcastle for London the previous year, 1964, but I returned often, not because of home-sickness, but the expediency of a free laundry service, and a visit to the bank of M&D.
There were stories of the Krays’ previous visit(s) to Newcastle, but usually they were supposedly seen at clubs like the Dolce Vita, not the sort of place that would welcome me.
However, I was back home in Newcastle one weekend in summer 1965, it was a Saturday evening, I went, with a girlfriend, to a club on Grey’s Street, called appropriately ‘Grey’s Club’.
The club was run/owned by a guy called Mike Emerson, ( if my memory serves me well, it was 58 years ago). He told us that the Kray twins and their chums had been in earlier, and had ‘offered’ the club first class protection for an eye-watering sum of money, Mike claimed the price was more than the weekend bar takings, and offered them the keys to the club.
The Krays asked Mike which club in Newcastle took the most money each weekend, Mike told them it was Billy Botto’s on Baker Bank, ( I think that was the name) what he didn’t tell them that Mr Botto’s establishment was a rather large bingo club. The bingo club was banged full of shipyard workers and their ladies, needless to say the Krays were given short shift, as they say.
By this time I was in the club Ago’go, the Kray twins and their entourage arrived about midnight and set up court, the Ago’go security, ie Dave Finlay and his charming younger brother, Tommy, were conspicuously absent.
The Krays stayed drinking at the club till about 5.00am. When they left the club their cars were surrounded by a fleet of cars driven by Northumberland and Durham’s finest.
The Krays were escorted to Darlington, if local myths are to believed.
Finally, a quiz question, how many cars did the Krays use that weekend? And, what were the makes of the cars, and for a bonus point, the year of manufacture of the cars?

Comment #106There was an article In the DT about the Monty Python sketches and how they’d be totally banned and be so politically incorrect now they would be edited out of existence.
But everybody of that era found them very funny and never considered them to be offensive.
The PC crowd are getting ridiculous in their view of the world.

Comment #107Nobodys going to be buying us
MA has no intention of selling
Its a lie to make all of the trousering of money and lack of signing players sound reasonable, its no different to bidding for players we never have any intention of buying
If anyone else shows an interest MA will milk it for all he can and end up with no deal saying he couldnt strike a deal. The new deal the new couldnt get it over the “line”
We are a profitable advert hes not selling
He also wants to keep a lid on protests and people buggering up his online buisnes so all the talk of selling helps his lie

Comment #108In his mind Rafa will work another miracle this season
He will sell a few players for big money, trouser that and the tv money
And either get Rafa or whoever to get some players in on loan or for a pittance to see what happens next year.
Think about it,he is making serious cash here and his tat shops are also getting their world wide audience
He has only spent money on people he though he could shift for a huge profit or when we have been religated
The so called good book keeping dont account for the “loan” he holds over us we cant pay while stumping up 90 million for another tat shop for him to exploit

Love the old Kray stories/rumours dudes, always used to think why did a group of guys (braver and bigger than myself I hasten to add lol..) not just stand up to them when they tried their strong-arm and thuggery routine.
Sounds like they did!!
Enjoy gangster type movies, just wished/wish such frightful characters never actually existed!!
Tynemouth,
I’ll guess at 6 cars in their group that night, Jaguars, ’59. .

Comment #112Ashley should quite simply continue to take his free advertising, allow the club to be proper money in, money out, and build up the Academy from his own largesse, and when the time is right, move Rafa upstairs to DOF to run it. Barcelona’s Academy is a genuine production line of first-team players and has on occasion fielded entire first team 11’s exclusively with Academy graduates of immense pedigree. Rafa would love to do the same for us, and happily make Mike Ashley a lot of money for the opportunity, but no – no no no no. Go figure. Hopefully, someone else sees what Rafa sees and relieves us of this beer bottle pocket billionaire.

Getting warmer, for at least one of the motors.
Incidentally, I was going to ask the colour of the cars, but I can’t remember.
As much as I love Newcastle, and very proud to be born there, post war toon was appropriately ‘black and white’ it was very much a monotone environment.

Comment #115Zaha on a new deal and earning 130 000 quid a week. That’s very big money, and far in excess of what we are paying our better players. Transfer fees, agents fees and top player’s salaries are scandalously high, meaning profit margins are low or non-existent, even for careful clubs. The Academy and the scouting network is our way forward, and we have arguably the best brain in football to oversee the running of it if only given the chance. Incredible opportunity to waste for an owner who can undoubtedly afford to finance our best shot at running a proper sporting enterprise. Redeem yourself for a laundry list of failings large and small Mike Ashley, or sell.

I think I would concur regarding the Pythons, (political correctness, etc,)
However, if you update their famous ‘what have the Romans ever done for us’ and present it in a contemporary context; then it could be ‘What has the EU ever done for us?’
Followed by, ‘Appart from no world war III, improved environment policies, the creation of the world’s strongest trading group, the inter European research initiatives in education, agriculture, medicine, aviation, security and the protection of human rights. etc. etc.’ just sayin’…
