Rafa – Yedlin Will Not Travel To South Wales – Speaks About Squad Strength

Rafa has just given his press conference for the Cardiff game tomorrow at 12:30 pm and he has again stressed that he is happy with the squad we have.

He is also pleased with the seven new signings he made this summer.

DeAndre Yedlin will not travel with the squad as Rafa says he needs to get back to his level after missing some training this week.

Yedlin picked up a knee injury against Spurs – but thankfully it was not severe and he has resumed training.

These are some of the comments that Rafa has made today:

“I’ve said before that the squad for us is stronger (than last season). We had some gaps to fill, and we brought some players in.”

“It is too soon for Yedlin. He will stay here, he will be working and he will need time to get back to his level.”

“I know how much we can improve, so we are working and trying to do that.”

“The new signings were training well, and we will see (if they will play) tomorrow. I am happy with them.”

“Cardiff are very strong physically, and they will try to create a good atmosphere.”

Javier Manquillo would be expected to come in at right-back, but Rafa could spring a surprise and play new signing Federico Fernandez there tomorrow.

We have both Fabian Schar and Federico Fernandez in central defense, and both will be pushing for a starting position in the team – anywhere.

It will be interesting to see who starts at right-back tomorrow.
