One Change For Newcastle At Cardiff

Rafa Benitez has just announced his team for Cardiff and it’s the same team as last week with Javier Manquillo coming in at right-back for the injured DeAndre Yedlin.

So still no start for Salomon Rondon.

And Rafa has changed the subs from last week with Isaac Hayden, Jacob Murphy and Federico Fernandez on the bench.

No place in the squad this week for new signing Fabian Schar.

Neil Warnock – Cardiff manager

This is a game we can win but like all games in the Premier League, we cannot make mistakes.

And we have to be more solid on defense than we were last week against a good Spurs side.

Shelvey definitely not MOM. Too many misplaced passes, put off by fans.

    Poor poor all round.

    Diame easily MOM.

The Kennedy haters today “including me!” We all would of started him without any doubt! The question is why does Rafa keep persevering with players who our poor on the day! I thought Shelvey was good today but often too deep, Dubravka was a lot better and more vocal today so trying to see the positives.

Only brightside for today: we played about as poor a game as possible away from home and still got a point out of it and had a chance to steal 3.

We couldn’t handle Cardiffs physical tactics. We were second best to every ball until oddly enough the red card. With one or two exceptions (shelvey and lacelles) the players looked scared to go for a challenge.

Manquillo can never play for us again. He is dire and a coward.

    Hayden embarrassed himself today.

Kenedy as well with that kickout. He’s out next 3 games – maybe 4 if the fact he can’t play against chelsea while on loan doesn’t count towards his retrospective ban.

And the ref called kenedy’s first foul. He didnt see the kickout just after that.

I’d still start Kenedy next week. There’s nobody else.

Today proves how bad our transfer business has been.

Rafa’s going to drop a few players next week… Joselu but maybe Perez too. RB as an issue if they’re all crocked Sterry?

Think the subs were forced on rafa.

Manquillo was injured although he never should have started. This also cost us a sub that would have been rondon.

Perez had moments but the physicality of cardiff was in his head. Muto was the

Ritchie was pretty poor today and we needed a change with pace since we had just seen red. Ritchie new himself it was the right sub.

Only reason i can think for not starting rondon is fitness.

Maybe not forced overall but hayden on for manq was forced to and that limited what we could do along with the red card.

How did we manage to acquire Manquillo? He has been useless for us, and the Makems.

I think all our outfield players were sh1t today Kenedy was the MoM last week, the villain this, everyone jumping on his back won’t help. something is going on within our squad I don’t know what it is but it needs sorting out, it’t not a happy camp, already I am sweating on my 16 place prediction, if we finish below Cardiff, we are down.

Deja vu… destructive display by cardiff… not willi g to play football… simply time consuming… looking for set pieces…
Ref was worse than horrible… a lot of energy was consumed by complaining to the refs poor decisions… like 2-9 in freekicks and 0-2 in yellows for first half…. ritchie got yallow when two cardiff players clashes… very poor ref.
We got stuck in the destructive pkay of cardiff… we actually were beyyer when we got on sent off as cardiff was completely clueless when the had tomgo forward for once….

Kenedy was ei5er drunk or hangover… shelvy should have taken penalty… another bad decision

Perez was one of few bright spots, still found pockets of space to get shots away, still did his usual graft, still won free-kicks.

Our best performer on the day aside from perhaps Shelvey. Both had so little to work with.

Kenedy got blog MotM last week but that’s only because suckers were so glad to see him in the B&W again and weren’t judging him through the same lens.

Ritchie was by our best player last weekend, Kenedy spurned a great chance and today he had clearly sniffed a lot of glue before kick-off.
