Who Was Newcastle’s Man Of The Match At Cardiff?

This was not a good game to watch for Newcastle fans as we labored against one of the poorer teams in the league.

It was fairly even in the first half after we had four shots on target.

But Cardiff came on after the break and then we lost Isaac Hayden to a red card after about 70 minutes and it didn’t look good.

But we hung on well and then after 96 minutes we got a penalty – but Kenedy missed it with a poor effort.

And he’s taking somewhat of a beating on the Internet after a mediocre performance.

But the lad is still young at 22 and he will learn from all of this.

Bottom line – we could have had 3 points in a game we deserved to lose.

That looks like Kenedy – after missing the penalty in the last minute

We must take these chances this season.

Gave lascelles man of the match but he needs to start gettin stuck into these players…such a half arsed performance by far to many lazy buggas…and he needs to make decisions on the pitch kenedy had a stinker and shouldn’t of been anywhere near that free kick at the end of the game, let alone the penalty.

Kennedy last weekend. Even today and 3 match ban on his head.Useless of a player. We would have been 4 points now Vs the 1 we have one. Fair result Cardiff didn’t deserve losing.

Rafa shld reshuffle the team. Hayden shld be shipped off South. He looked misplaced. We keep our Longscaff

Thanks for clarifying the rules for me. In most teams you’re best striker will be a striker and therefore best penalty taker. Yeah there’s a few exceptions, usually world class players eg lampard, Gerrard. Kenedy is neither of those, he’s not even a double digit goal scorer, he’s a winger; a young, inexperienced one at that with raw skills that can make him a decent prem player consistently, over time.

So I stand by if we had a decent striker they’d had taken the penalty, my point is we haven’t, and it’s a disgrace

Referee was following the ball during the Kenedy incident and didn’t see it properly. So he can still face retrospective action because he wasn’t yellow carded for it.

How many penalties did mitro miss and will hayden never play for use again like what rafa did to mitro for being sent off rafa has one set of rules for his favourites and a different set for the rest of the players my son has followed real Madrid all his life after the toon he said this is what happened there with favourites.

Lee Ryder (on the red card)

Hayden had been warned about rash challenges from Shelvey a few minutes earlier. #nufc

Did he give a free kick for the action that Kenedy did which is thought to be deserving of the red?

    I didn’t see it

We would have had Ritchie taking it if he hadn’t been stupidly taken off.

Unless they’ve changed the rules ?

Harry Arters tackle was the worst of the lot.

Kenedy must think he is the man grabbing the ball of other players, Shelvey should have taken the free kick near the end and the penalty, Kenedy last week was good, this week totally absymal, add to Haydyn who was so reckless from the moment he came on, pants anyways, add none of our new signings starting not including the goalie, it’s just bizarre, I would say that no other club ever in premiership history has not started any new signings in their first two games to that extent, I thought Benitez had settled down! He’s went completely 360 from Rafas bingo, and fair enough I hated that, but we have newer imo better players available to bed in, he’s a strange on at times alright.

In the end a good point, it would have been really hard on Cardiff to lose in the last minute although I’d have been delighted if they had.

Ritchie was handicapped by that strange ref’s decision to yellow card him when it was he who clearly was fouled.

The Hayden red should have been a yellow, definite foul but no worse than Arter’s.

Funnily enough I thought we played better with 10 men and at one point thought they were hanging on more than us.

I said at half time we were playing against 12 men with the ref favouring the home side big time.

So a point out of the game is a good result in the end.

May I suggest that when the team plays this bad, you ask who is the”worst” player of the day and not man of the match?

For the Kenedy kick the ref awarded a free kick after playing advantage to Cardiff. Apparently it was the linesman’s decision but as a free kick was awarded I don’t think they can ban Kenedy!

As I’ve said before, in these games we need an option of “no-one”.
They were all poor. No they were all rubbish.
We have no pace, no skill, no hold up ability. No idea how we are going to get any goals.
