For those who haven’t yet seen the highlights of the game – here are 10 minutes of them from yesterday’s 2-1 defeat against Chelsea.
And the video should play around the world – the commentary isn’t too good though.
Federico Fernandez in action yesterday on his debut – had a good game

2 RELEGATION’S have 2 things in common.
1 Ashley.
2 negative tactics.
again this is not a reaction to 1 defeat, its more about a style of play, the same way i complained about Pardew, i could copy and paste most of those augments and use them for Rafa..
your point of view only cuts one way, its like if we win in what ever fashion, Rafa is great, only he could get a tune out of these misfits. or its wow we lost these players are crap.
whether it be pardew, Shteve, or Rafa, i have seen us play some outstanding football, only to revert to a dull boring grind out a nil nil, it was the same set of players, but a whole change in mentality, that comes from one man.
we are a mess off the pitch, Ashley takes the blame for that, on the pitch is Rafas domain, and even worse he took control of the signings, so he is saying im wasting money on crap players because you wont give me lots of money to buy the ones i really want. i have to play defensive football because he wont give me the money i need to buy the players i want,
he was sacked from Real for being to defensive. FACT

Im a Trump fan and not ashamed of it. but i see something that both Ashley and Trump use to great effect. TRump paid next to nothing for his advertisements, he let the media run negative stories about him which gave him air time for free, Ashley is doing exactly the same, His name or SD is getting so much free publicity because of all these protests, we the fans are only a tiny % of who buys from him.
its very ironic that you complain about his SD adverts everywhere, then go and give free advertising

Comment #3Just for posters to note. I posted after the Spurs game a tweet that someone made online. They spent time compiling the costs the teams that weekend. The cost of our team (first 11 and subs) was 17th only ahead of Cardiff, Burnley and Bournemouth. Bear in mind that this did not includ the likes of Gibson of Burnley or lerma of Bournemouth which would mean we are the 19th most expensively assembled squad in the league. Only Cardiff cost less.
Rafa said at the end of the window that our first priority is survival, exactly like last season, because we hadn’t improved the team enough which is true. People will not like us playing a certain way in some matches but it is the cards we have been given. Rather than whine at the manager after only the third game having already played Spurs and Chelsea, perhaps it might be worth to look at the root cause.
To expect us play differently missing a third of our team (lascelles, shelvey, kenedy and Lejuene) is just deluded. Hard work and effort will only trump quality on occasions. All yesterday showed was we lacked quality.

we have a better keeper
we have a better version of Diame
we have a better version of Perez,
value of players and teams is deceptive, unless you pay top top money, paying 10 mill or 30 million dosnt mean a thing. Slimani cost 30 million wouldnt pay 5 for him.
also we do beat more expensive teams, and some times with ease,
no thats not me saying we should be top 4, i feel people make up excuses

Comment #7Having watched the game yesterday, I’d like to see us go 3 at the back (Fernandez, Lascelles, Dummett), Wing backs Yedlin and Kennedy, midfield 3 of Schar, Ki and Shelvey, and top 2 of Rondon with Muto/Perez. I think it would make us more solid in midfield, with the extra creative player.

Comment #8There was absolutely no high lights to that game, what a fkin disappointed. IF ANY OTHER MANAGER had served up that shambolic display of shite believe me every Newcastle fan would be fuming. That’s not entertainment I’m pleased I didn’t pay MA to watch it.
As soon as we had a go we looked a threat.
I honestly can’t see the point of being a premier league team if thats our way forward.
Something needs to change.

i can buy a top of the range golf club, its the same one the pros use, but why can i not hit it as far or accurate?
Rafa had Ronaldo the player, and wanted him to defend, was that the best use of a 90 million pound forward

Comment #10Even Real Betis, a relegation battling La Liga side can spend £18 million on Carvalho and £15 million on Zinchenko. Makes you sick.

I’m sorry I’m lost about you saying we have a better keeper, diame, Perez etc. Who you referring to here?
Yes values are a different thing. I was talking about fees and how much funding a team has been given. What I’m saying is barring Cardiff, we are the team with least amount of funds put into it.
This is t excuse for losing or playing poorly or whatever, just a reflection of where we are right now compared to previous teams we’ve had. We lack quality throughout the squad. Yesterday showed that. We often beat teams through hard work, commitment, organisation and fight. That’s what we are under Rafa, we punched above our weight last season and if we finished midtable this season it is another season of overachievement.

Comment #14After shipping 6 against Citeh, I wonder what Huddersfield fans feel about being a bit more difficult to break down in their next game against one of the big 6? I’m fortunate that I get to watch every Toon game live on TV, but I certainly don’t want to watch us getting a tennis score from one of the big boys, because we are too open. Even the last 15 minutes of yesterday’s game, we looked more like conceding, because we were giving it a go.

Comment #15is it the value of the squad that dictates how good you are?
if NUFC sign me for 200 million, does that make them an instantly better team? even good players need to prove they are good enough at a new club.
Gylfi Sigurdsson, cost 50 million, but the manager didnt get the best out of him, whos fault

I don’t think our squad is any better than the squad at the end of last season; we just have more depth/cover when we get injuries or suspensions, and we shifted out players that had no future at the club.
