This Could Be The Newcastle Team For Nottingham Forest

Rafa Benitez will make a lot of changes to the side that were narrowly beaten 2-1 by Chelsea on Saturday when we play at Nottingham Forest tonight in the League Cup.

The manager has said what past managers have all said under owner Mike Ashley –  that the Premier League is the priority.

But of course Rafa still wants to win this game – and we have only one point from the first three games, so a win would be very welcome.

Rafa will play his strongest side on Saturday in the late game at Premier League Champions Manchester City.

Jamie Sterry – deserves a start tonight

Here’s a team Rafa could start tonight.

Sterry Schar Fernandez Dummett (c)
Ki  Longstaff
Atsu Muto Kenedy

That will give impressive local lads Jamie Sterry and Sean Longstaff a deserved start, and new players Schar, Fernandez, Muto, and Rondon a good runout.

And Kenedy is back in the team after his huge disappointment in missing that last minute penalty against Cardiff City.

And given how well Schar and Fernandez played on Saturday, that now looks like a strong starting eleven for Newcastle.

What would your team be for tonight’s game?

Off subject, but just saw this on f365’s gossip page:

Newcastle captain Jamaal Lascelles and winger Matt Ritchie were involved in a furious training-ground fight

Anybody got any details, or at least know who won?

Ritchie has knee injury and Lascelles an ankle knock
Probably an over robust practice game rather than a fight

You really make some very odd comments. Rafa hasn’t always been high maintenance by any means, even at Valencia and even at his bigger gigs he has often offset or covered his outlay on signings.

To compare Rafa to Pardew is insane. One is a man of integrity the other is Pardew who once won the Johnson Painter trophy while also having record losing streaks in the history of 4 different clubs.

With the amount of bust ups lascelles is involved in, I think he should be stripped off his captaincy and sold in January. 30m for him can buy us atleast 3 players or 4.

You are far too transparent to be an effective troll.

That’s a false statement as you come from the North, or claim to.

Why did you not astound us with your university studies when we were beating Arsenal last season to record a fourth straight victory or beating Chelsea to seal tenth.
