This Could Be Newcastle’s Best Team To Get Something At The Etihad

Jonjo Shelvey and Matt Ritchie are still injured and will not play tomorrow at the Etihad Stadium.

And Isaac Hayden will be serving the last of his three-match ban and will be available for our next game in two weeks at home to Arsenal.

We’re sure Rafa will again play five at the back and Jamaal Lascelles is available – so we think Rafa could leave Fabian Schar out of the side to make way for the captain.

That’s tough on Fabian and maybe Rafa will keep the same back five from last Saturday – since they did so well in that game.

It would not be a huge surprise if Rafa keeps the same back five as last week and has Lascelles on the bench.

Jamaal Lascelles – could return tomorrow

Here’s the side we think Rafa will choose for the game at Manchester City tomorrow in a 4-5-1 formation:

Dubravka
Yedlin Lascelles (c) Fernandez Clark Dummett
Atsu Ki Diame Kenedy
Rondon

Rondon looked good in the short time he was on the pitch and scored a nice goal to open his account at Newcastle.

On the right wing, the greater experience of Christian Atsu should win him the starting position over Jacob Murphy – in Matt Ritchie’s absence.

We hope Kenedy on the left wing can get into this game tomorrow.

What’s your team for tomorrow afternoon?

Three in four fans think we will lose this game.

Jiblets, when you were installing satellite dishes, driving taxis or steering diesel donkeys, did you use words like dichotomous, or did you reserve that for when you were giving speeches about the Einsatzgruppen?

Just saw that Dembele has gone to Lyon for £19.7m
Some comments from Rogers suggesting he was an unsettling influence or was he just engineering a move back to France.
Either way was he a missed opportunity to break our transfer record ?

    Jib

“She penned a parliamentary petition demanding Mike Ashley
pump more cash into the club.”

This statement is not entirely accurate, she was questioning why the owner did not let the club invests its own money, highlighting the potential shortfall in revenue and the possible financial missapropriation taking place in the highly escalted football industry.

Does the fee for Dembele from Celtic to Lyon feel low to anyone else?
If close to £20m can be considered low these days.

    Lindisfarne,
I remember seeing the back of a Daily Record on some platform and the headline was the 50M kid or along them lines.

I’m sorry Jail, in a neutral point of view, I find Jib more entertaining and humorous than you.And he doesn’t deserve words like that
@121 btw.So you better watch out with your words. One day it may come back and haunt you (may tell you how it is and tell you to fck off).

#correction…. questionning why the owner was not prepared to invest in the club (as a whole) adequately as any self respecting property owner should when directly linked to the community.

I wonder if Gordon Sumner aka Sting would say a few words backing up Chi Onwarah up when he’s not too busy saving rain forests.

Jail for the umpteenth time. Rafa had sufficient backing for us to beat Cardiff and Forest. We were shocking against both but Rafa acted like Mark Hughes after forest as though we were deprived of a deserved win. We were crap and so he and the players deserve the brickbats. However let’s draw a line under it and hope that we can compete today, and I think we will. I have no issue playing like we did last year v city in the etihad. Gwan Rafa get some compact as you like today. Can you imagine the joy if we win? No goals in the first 20 and who knows? Htl and howay the gaffer
