Newcastle United U-23 manager Ben Dawson has said that former Leeds manager Neil Redfearn will be working for a couple of weeks at Newcastle to help him out.
It seems we are short of coaching staff for the U23, so Neil has agreed to come in and help Dawson with the U23 coaching in the short-term.
And Ben has complimented Achraf Lazaar on his attitude while training with the U23 side.
Achraf Lazaar – bubbly and enthi=usiastic
It’s got to be difficult for the 17 times capped Moroccan International after he went on loan to Benevento last season and was left out of their squad in January so didn’t get any games this year.
This is what Ben has said about the 26-year-old :
“He’s been great,” “He’s bubbly, he’s enthusiastic every day but to be fair to him he works hard.”
“To be fair to him he works hard, but the lads aren’t frightened to tell him if his levels are just dropping a bit.”
“It’s been good and he takes it on the chin.”
“You can see when you get the ball into wide areas the quality he puts into the box.”
“Hopefully, some of those younger lads, that play in similar position, can learn from him.”
It’s good that Achraf is staying upbeat and maybe he can get a loan to some other club in January.
It just hasn’t worked out for him at Newcastle for whatever reason.
He played 10 times for the Newcastle first team.

Comment #1Neil Redfearn is only here for a few weeks to help out ?
Surely not another penny pinching scam by Ashley to save money ?

Re Rialtos,
possibly /probably nothing more than a distraction to dilute other events of the evening,
the timing was significant the venue wasn’t

“If anyone is disrupting the blog it’s the people who are berating Toon 22 or engaging him” and “…if you’re unable to skip them I believe you’re looking for attention and use him as a stick to beat others with.”
Wrong on both counts. However, you are using good posters’ very reasonable exasperation at Toon22’s behaviour for your own ends – to have a go at Jib. So who’s using him as “a stick to beat others with”. Just a tad hypocritical I think

Comment #8Are people actually suggesting that the night out on a Wednesday was a coincidence and the only day they were all available???
An MP talking in a fans meeting gets hardly any coverage yet the price of a spag bol does???

Comment #10Fascinating game at Old Trafford at the weekend.
Two managers under a bit of pressure for different reasons.
Will the multi million pound Man.U. team finally put in a performance for Mourinho and give us a right tonking, or will Rafa’s bits and pieces rise to the challenge as they have done in the past to take advantage of the reds’ discontent to snatch a result ?
We don’t have too long to wait to find out.
