Rafa Benitez was given a boost yesterday when left-back Paul Dummett joined in the full training session at Benton and will be fit for our next game on 20 October at home to Brighton.
And there’s more good news for Newcastle as French center-back Florian Lejeune has returned from his rehabilitation in Rome and is back at Newcastle.
Lejeune suffered an ACL knee injury in late July in training and had surgery in Rome to repair the damage.
He stayed there to see out the early part of his rehabilitation.
Florian seems to be doing well, and there has been no relapse in the recovery of the Paris-born 27-year-old.
Newcastle have put out a tweet in which Florian updates fans on his condition via his Instagram account.
The defender says: “Hello everyone, my recovery is on schedule, It will take a little more patience before I come back on the field but I am working very hard to get back as quickly and strong as as possible.. Thank you for all your messages ?” #NUFC pic.twitter.com/pSChtw9eyW

So far in his Newcastle career, he has suffered a few injuries, but the Frenchman has shown he can become Newcastle’s top defender and has already improved since he arrived at Newcastle in the summer of last year.
We hope his recovery continues on schedule and he could be playing for us in January.
He has started some light training at Newcastle.
Here is Florian’s Twitter account if you would like to send him some words of encouragement – they always help.
