We had a report out earlier today that it didn’t look like Salomon Rondon would make the vital game at Southampton on Saturday, becasue of his thigh injury.
But news today in the Chronicle that both the striker and Ciaran Clark are back in training at Benton.
The Chronicle had reported it was a race again time to get Rondon fit for Saturday – but maybe he will make it after all.
That’s got to be good news for Newcastle, and we are not sure where the goals were going to come from to get us the wins we need before Christmas to pull away from the bottom three.
Salomon Rondon – back in training today
Hopefully, that will mean that Salomon will now be involved at St. Mary’s Stadium although he may not start the game.
Rondon has made only three starts this season due to lack of fitness and slight injuries so it would be great if he can have a good spell in the Newcastle starting lineup.
New signing Fabian Schar made a rare appearance on the bench last Saturday, but if Ciaran is fit, he may be on the bench in place of the Swiss International.
It’s strange and not particularly encouraging that two of our new signings in the summer – Schar, and Ki are having trouble making the bench so far this season.
Wonder what’s going on behind the scenes with these two new players?
Rafa’s reported to be unhappy with Ki’s lack of mobility, and they are working on that, but not sure what the problem (if any) is with Fabian Schar – who has always looked a good player.
