Latest Update On Paul Dummett’s Mysterious Injury

We still don’t know the extent of the injury Paul Dummett picked up last week while playing for Wales against Denmark.

Paul had to leave the game with a muscle injury after 38 minutes, and the Danes went on to win the game 2-1.

Dummett has returned to Newcastle and was not part of the Welsh squad that lost 1-0 in Albania in a (meaningless) friendly last night.

Paul Dummett – extent of injury still unknown

Newcastle don’t have a ready replacement for Paul, and it will be interesting how Rafa Benitez deals with the local lad’s absence.

But a left back is a requirement for the January transfer window, so we have some cover and some real competition for Paul at Newcastle

The latest from the club is that he needs further assessment on the injury.

We don’t even know if it’s a slight injury or a serious one – we assume it’s minor.

Rafa could play Javier Manquillo, Ciaran Clark, Kenedy or Lazaar at left-back, or play three at the back – Lascelles, Fernandez, and Schar.

We’ll have to wait and see what the boss does for next Monday night’s vital game at Turf Moor

What do you think?

Doesn’t Ed have a daily quota of articles to produce? (Not a criticism, by the way)

I think it’s all a smokescreen to confuse Dyche, just imagine how demoralised the Burnley team are going to be when he trots onto the pitch putting all thoughts of an easy game out of their minds.

Our next game against Burnley will not be an easy one, whoever takes over at left back needs to be someone physical as Chris Woods and others will see that as our weakness. Add in Barnes maybe and he will give our defenders that physical threat, Burnley will not be an easy place to play at and they have Liverpool, Spurs, and Everton next so they will see our game as one they need to win. Fingers crossed that we can keep up the tempo away from home and get another win, West Ham are at home against Man City so we could jump them with a win, same points but on paper, Man City should score a few goals knocking West Hams goals difference in favor of the toon.

Nostra magpie like that bud, hopefully 3 more points for the toon HWTL!
thats the joys of rafas tactics against city. When other teams get hammerd by them its like a win for us aswell ,goal difference wise.
City is a different beast but rafa made them look quite tame.
