Newcastle played really well on Monday night and had a very fluid formation – when we were defending it was a 5-4-1 formation but when we were attacking it seems like a 3-5-2 formation.
But it was so well executed by the players that it confused Burnley in the first 20 minutes of the game.
There’s no argument on Tyneside that Rafa Benitez is a brilliant manager – a perfect manager for Newcastle United, and the fans love him for what he’s trying to do at the club.
Rafa has pointed out how the two center-backs Federico Fernandez and Fabian Scar were critical to the win at Turf Moor.
Ciaran Clark – celebrates his goal on Monday night
He has also praised captain for the day – Ciaran Clark – who came in from the cold and had an outstanding game for us on the left side of the back three.
This is what Rafa Benitez has told the Chronicle today about these three players:
“They were crucial for us.”
“We have analysed the game back and watched every cross every ball and in all those situations to play with three was really important for us.”
“There were so many second balls there that the second man who was free was there to cover.”
“They made the difference for us.”
“Fede is doing well because he has experience and knows the Premier League.”
“I think the rest of the players know and respect him.”
“With Jamaal Lascelles injured and Ciaran Clark also not playing recently, he has been important.”
“For Clark, Fernandez and Fabian Schar to play together so well they have given us the chance to manage the situation.”
“Lascelles coming back and Florian Lejeune gives us more competition and hopefully it will be positive for us.”
We have a feeling it could be an unchanged side today at home to West Ham, but Shelvey, Muto, and Lascelles are all fit again and will at the very least be on the bench.
We need another win.

Jesper,
I bet there’s not one bloke on here that wouldn’t jump at the chance to be a stay home dad given the chance so give it a rest with your sanctimonious clap trap. You got grief that day because you spout shite about games you’ve never seen and made out you were morally superior family man because you wouldn’t shift your dinner by an hour to watch the football(with your family).
HA!

Comment #6Lets recap Jail…it comes from a man who claims it better to prioritise football before family, who expects dinner to be served in front of the TV so he can watch football (if he’s not already at the game)
To make up for the fact that he’s away from the famile two weeks a month he takes the kids to the park while he drinks coffee and blog. He then takes his in-laws out to dinner because they will be watching the kids later!
He then sacs (or how it’s spelled) others for not making the same arrangements and priorities while claiming that the person in question doesn’t watch the games.
It has been mentioned to you countless of times that I watch the games, it has been mention on here while discussing the games, it has been highlighted to you by Ibiza but you keep claiming without any substantiated proof that I don’t watch the games!
I have highlighted it again now for everyone to read the next time you make the same false accusations…
Don’t you have a park to be in or are you already there?

Ha ha knew you could be relied upon to cut through the chaff and get to the point – yes you like to see division and those you dislike apparently wound up and leaving – except I am not – just making a principled stand for whatever time suits me ( hour long enough?) ;-o
At least I haven’t flounced off as you did over a self inflicted argument which got out of hand dragging in a usual Blog mate in Ibiza – snigger as you will, you are the best at it on here no contest 🙂
Others less entrenched seem to get my point which is all I wanted.Job done!
Keep up the sneering and I might change my mind and come back just to haunt you 🙂

In defense of Jail, It’s about balance, I juggle family and work in order that I don’t miss a game.
You need to start wearing the trousers young’un.

Comment #13Jesper…….. I think you’re being somewhat harsh on Jail there. I know he loves his football as we all do but to insinuate he’s a poor father and doesn’t love his kids is maybe taking things a bit too far.

…is an acronym meaning Wind-Up Merchant.
It refers to someone who posts on message boards and newsgroups with the intention to cause as much disruption as possible by goading others.
Recognise that definition? Some won’t thinking it’s only about Welsh posters
I do though – it fits frog like a glove- if that isn’t too much of a weird thought.
The content doesn’t matter you see it’s the purpose of the posting and Toon22 has been honest about that at least if little else 😉
