Rafa Benitez has just announced his team for the tough game at Goodison Park tonight which has 7:45 pm kickoff time and it’s not exactly been a good away ground for us over recent years.
We surprisingly lost 3-0 at home to West Ham on Saturday afternoon and it’s vital that the players try to get back to their winning ways.
It looks like Rafa will play five at the back tonight with Lascelles coming back in Manquillo keeping his place at left-back.
Jamaal Lascelles returns to the side after injury
Murphy and Atsu come into the side at the expense of Perez and Ritchie – who is suspended for this game.
TEAM NEWS
Here’s how Newcastle United will line-up for tonight’s @premierleague game at @Everton. #NUFC pic.twitter.com/lc0UutsQ6g
— Newcastle United FC (@NUFC) December 5, 2018
As we’ve mentioned in earlier articles today if Newcastle can keep winning games a takeover could even happen this month, or if not this year then in January.
But we cannot have another slump and slip back into the relegation zone.
There is not a lot of confidence from fans that we can win the game tonight with only one in seven thinking we can get all 3 points.

Comment #4Hmmm, can’t help but feel Shelvey should be making it a 3 man midfield and Muto should be up with Rondon in a 5-3-2

Comment #21Oosh rough line up. I imagine the 0-3 loss to West Ham had Rafa’s head spinning, he’s back to the nick a point 0-0 tactic. Can’t say I disagree tonight. A point would be a good result.

Comment #24I said after watching that game on Sunday that Rafa might end up upsetting a few of the football purists tonight. It’s going to be ten men behind the ball and hope to hit them on the break. Need a good solid performance from Rondon tonight as he’s going to be a bit lonely.

Hearing from sources that Atlanta United midfielder Miguel Almiron to Newcastle United is a done deal. There are a few things left to be done but probably will join in the winter transfer window. Possibly a loan deal with an option to buy of around £15m at the end of the season.

Comment #33Against West Ham Manquillo got to the byline in the first few minutes, and made a poor very fist of crossing with his left foot.
From then on he hung back despite many opportunities when there was a huge space ahead of him that he could have run into and still be onside.
When the ball reached his side he was static and invariably turned infield onto his right foot.
So i’d much rather have had Clark.

Comment #36Murphy and Atsu both have plenty to play for, so you never know, but when you look at their attack and ours, you’d have to think we’ll need a mighty effort and the rub of green to get anything tonight. Manqillo and Yedlin as wing backs should do better than they would as fullbacks in the flat back four, but for much of the match it’ll be flat back five, with everyone ahead shutting down runners. Tough 90 ahead. HWTL
