Three Changes – Lascelles, Atsu And Murphy Start At Goodison

Rafa Benitez has just announced his team for the tough game at Goodison Park tonight which has 7:45 pm kickoff time and it’s not exactly been a good away ground for us over recent years.

We surprisingly lost 3-0 at home to West Ham on Saturday afternoon and it’s vital that the players try to get back to their winning ways.

It looks like Rafa will play five at the back tonight with Lascelles coming back in Manquillo keeping his place at left-back.

Jamaal Lascelles returns to the side after injury

Murphy and Atsu come into the side at the expense of Perez and Ritchie – who is suspended for this game.

As we’ve mentioned in earlier articles today if Newcastle can keep winning games a takeover could even happen this month, or if not this year then in January.

But we cannot have another slump and slip back into the relegation zone.

There is not a lot of confidence from fans that we can win the game tonight with only one in seven thinking we can get all 3 points.

Pretty good result that away at the blue nosed bitter bastids.

They’ve spent a small fortune and couldn’t beat us. I’d say it’s better than pretty good tbh.

Suppose important thing is the point.
Both clubs should be done under the Trade Descriptions Act for selling that as top flight football.

Agreed Springy but we have to keep on believing . Perhaps Cashley has other irons in the fire like buying the remaining stake in Debenhams or making a bid for M & S . Let’s hope so.
Bring on the Wolves to Rafa’s Den!!

Well done Atsu ..Murphy off to early .. johslu no time to be effective but leSS effective than a tired Rondon..suppose he didn’t have much time to get into the game to be fair but we know what to expect.

A good all round team effort Diame strong and doing the dirty work . Defence looked solid with Lascelles back in it.

The ref was a disgrace ..the Everton players diving was a disgrace.. ref gave them about 50 free kicks and Newcastles You could count on one hand ..a Homer.

Booked 7 ? of our players ..Everton players and fans biggest bunch of whingers Iv ever witnessed .

Keep the 5 at the back for Wolves Rafa if Dummet still isn’t fit. Bring in Shelvey for Diame, Kenedy for Atsu, despite his better showing tonight, and Perez on the right, or Murphy if you’re feeling bolder. Five at the back can be more offensive than we’ve seen in our away games, if the fullbacks get forward, and both Yedlin and Manqillo both get forward well.

23% possession against a mid table team
    63% pass completion

but if you want to accept crap, it only goes to prove your sad and will accept anything,,

you all deserve managers like pardew, joke in ear.

Happy with the point. I predicted a draw but Atsu fluffed a finish that would have netted all 3. MOTM for me is Dubs is save before HT kept us in it mentally and throughout he was where he needed to be.

We haven’t had any kind of result against Everton in years and even though they had a lot of possession and corners Dubravka hardly had a save to make we actually created the more clear cut chances so possession stats don’t really mean much I suppose…….

Regretably the Toon holding mega rich Everton to a draw is why FATASH is so so reluctant to sell but if we go down nobody will want to buy us – Catch 22. Surely MA can see this and hence is wish now to sell – hopefully

Not the sale stuff again… stuffing cotton in my ears and needles in my eyes just going to ignore it till it falls through as last time (rise repeat) or goes through (cue parade).

More to the point is the comment by Ashley that he didnèt think it was realisitc a deal would be done by January. Surely means the sock is filed with coal, there’s nothing under the tree and the cupboard is bare for Rafa transfer business.

That point edges us closer to a sale. 3 points at home v Wolves could well seal it.

    Good result.

The team with three central defenders does work away from home.

Dubravka in the first half and Atsu in the second share my MOTM.

Atsu was very lively and it was good to see at last a player taking on and beating an opponent.

I thought Rondon played well in a very difficult role. He was there when he had to be.

I thought our midfield Ki and Diame were very quiet, but was this because of the team’s formation ?

Come on Ashley if you have one ounce of decency left in you , sell the Club before the end of the month please. That was another great point earned tonight but we will never get a Top 8 finish with a team of Championship players despite their monumental efforts each week =Fact

Your nonsense is simply pathetic,it will make no difference to when Ashley goes or stays
But it is sure pissing the rest of us off

Fol who think Ki had a quiet game don’t realise
he can play 2 modes – tonight he was a DM – he
doesn’t break play up as spectacularly as others
but he often gets a disruptive foot in when it matters
plus he also helped the defenders out in and around the box

MoTM for me, Dubravka nicks it. Rondon battled like a warrior, and both Atsu and Murphy did well. Ki, cool as the other side of the pillow.
