Report Rafa To Be Given Financial Support Next Month

The Chronicle is reporting today that Rafa Benitez has been promised financial backing in the upcoming January transfer window whether or not Mike Ashley has managed to sell the club by then.

They report that Rafa – whose contract runs out at the end of June – has been given assurances that new players will arrive next month.

We really hope that turns out to be true and the club could start the transfer momentum by agreeing to a deal to sign Miguel Almiron from Atlanta United.

It’s understood that Rafa wants four new players brought in next month and there is news filtering through on who those players could be.

This is a critical transfer window for Newcastle United if we want to keep Rafa Benitez as the manager past next June.

Rafa (shown above) has worked hard with his recruitment team under Steve Nickson and has a backup list of loan targets from Europe in case the manager doesn’t get the money to sign the players he wants in January.

That is essentially what happened last January, and goalkeeper Martin Dubravka and Chelsea winger Kenedy were brought in on loan and were enough to turn the tide for Newcastle.

And amazingly we finished in 10th place – with very little investment coming from Mike Ashley.

If we do have new owners in the summer, we are hoping that everything will change and that Rafa will be able to buy some quality players and maybe sell some players who will no longer be needed.

That’s the hope.

Has anybody seen this Almiron guy? I’m a bit tired of us acquiring decent players.

We have the foundation, from now on we need players who will make a real difference now. The opposite of Murphy, that is.

If we have 30 million, don’t buy 5 players. Get just one excellent one. Or two rough diamonds.

The Sun enjoy a wind up. Don’t they ?

Peter Kenyon’s bid to takeover Newcastle United has hit problems with the former Premier League executive still short by £100million, according to The Sun.
The newspaper report that Kenyon has so far managed to muster up just £200million as he seeks more backers for his attempt to buy out embattled owner Mike Ashley.
The Sun claim that Ashley wants more than £300million for the Magpies, meaning Kenyon is well short of that valuation at this moment in time.

If my memory serves me right I think it was December the 15th last year that was supposed to be the date of the takeover. It all seemed to unravel fairly quickly once we passed that date with no news.
As we approach the 15th of December, I wonder if we are in a similar situation this year?

Aye Jail, you still are a gent in my book.Don’t give two hoots about the takeover personally. If it happens, happens. If not, normal business resumes. At the end of the day tho,it’s all about getting and opening an envelope with pot full of cash. And I will fight for it.

chicousa – interesting, why are they fighting?
Could that be your fault? 🙂

The Mag are talking about the Legal Team at Walker Morris in Leeds having their holidays put on hold due to possible involvement in NUFC deal.
The do have form in the Sports and Footballl market, for example:

Head of the Sports Team, David Hinchliffe, has been voted UK Sports Lawyer of the Year in:
Global 100 Sports Lawyer of the Year – 2017
    Corporate USA today – 2017

Seems to have recognition in the USA……which might be meaningful
