Comparison With Last Season At This Time And Other Stats

It’s only the third time since last May that we woke up this morning and had the pleasure of recalling our home win yesterday against Cardiff City at home.

The 3-0 scoreline was excellent and helped our goal difference.

We play relegation contenders Burnley and Huddersfield at home, all in five days, at the end of February.

We need to win both those games, and we should be able to continue to rise in the Premier League from our current 4th bottom place.

Rafa Benitez – Newcastle manager

But we do have Man City at St. James’ Park and Tottenham away at Wembley in our next two league games and Watford at home next Saturday in the 4th round of the FA Cup.

After a great win, it’s a good time to take stock of where we are in the league table and who our goalscorers have been – with Schar getting a brace yesterday – his first goals for the club.

Here’s the league table this morning.

2018-201938129174248-64513

Here are our upcoming games through the end of February.

Sat 26 Jan Newcastle vs Watford 3:00pm FA Cup 4th round
Tue 29 Jan Newcastle vs Man City 8:00pm
Sat 2 Feb Tottenham vs Newcastle 5:30pm
Mon 11 Feb Wolves vs Newcastle 8:00pm
Sat 23 Feb Newcastle vs Huddersfield 3:00pm
Wed 27 Feb Newcastle vs Burnley 7:45pm

So our next goal next Saturday is to show we can keep winning at home and get through to the 5th round of the FA Cup against Watford.

Winning is good for the soul and will also help us survive in the Premier League this season.

The Hoss fell over in training last week and when asked if he was ok he replied, “I’ve fallen over and I can’t giddyup”.

Just shows what a bad owner does to his precious ponies.

We have a free hit against Watford next week
Hopefully Rafa will take the shackles off and go
shit or bust (we don’t need/want a replay)

The club should dramatically reduce prices and get SJP
    throbbing to a scintillating cuptie

Rafa has told The Hoss not to make too much noise when trying to pull the cart. Apparently it’s not just about whinnying it’s taking cart that counts.

“our wage bill would actually have placed us 8th in the PL.
Obviously Rafa has done sterling work reducing that ridiculous situation”

Mike Ashley’s policies have reduced the wage bill. Rafa wants money. Can anyone actually believe jib thinks our club having the 8th highest wage bill in the league to be a “ridiculous situation”. Unbelievable jib. You have no ambition for our club. As I’ve always said, you are not a real fan.

If Ashley who thinks he’s so smart on deals
looked at Liverpool he would see what rewards
proper buying at a PL club can bring

£8m purchase value on Robertson compared to £72m market value,
    £29m to £129m on Firmino,
    £32m to £120m on Mane
    £36m to £162m on Salah.

While we’re all over the moon with our win yesterday, let’s not get carried away, we beat fellow relegation candidates which were also a poor side. Although these are the games we need to win to give us a chance to stay in the premier league.

I’d sell Shelvey, I don’t think he’s been much good this year and the £20m+ we can get for him can be better spent on a proper number 10.

When he plays everything seems to go through him and the opposition know that.

Take the money (and open the box).

Only a week away from bargain shopping time for NUFC. What can Rafa find in the basement close-out bin? Will daddy MA let him ring up the sale, or only take something home to try-out?

God bless the mess the FA allows to continue with the oligarch teams at the top of the Prem in control of the rosters and money while everyone else down to League !! paying through the nose to get 11 passable players on the pitch.

What jib is saying is we shouldn’t have the eight highest wage bill in the premier league

Whatever his rationale I don’t know
He’s always peddled us as a small club

We are not, we have the potential to be so much more

Was the ridiculously high wage bill not manipulated to include the wages of the contract in full, was it not something like a 120M. If so does that not mean the next showing should be zero excepting the players signed since.

Morning mate, I agree I would sell Shelvey if Rafa gets the coin and all of it.

I like him when he is on song, just he doesn’t do it enough and I am sure Rafa could replace him with a better player.

West spam allegedly were after him, probs last day sale by Ash and no time to replace him.

    Swallocks,
It has been pointed out that Jesper took far to much stick over the whirling captaincy fiasco. There is not a poster on here, except me of course that has never mentioned a bad idea. It was his opinion and it was discussed and didn’t meet any ridicule….at first, it was his pig headed stubbornness that made him determined to prove himself right that made such a big deal of the situation.

We, the fans, who resist Ashley’s rule are the ones forcing him out. Not non-fans like you who attempt to continuously defend his policies. Why do you defend Ashley?
