Benitez In Talks To Sign Sevilla Midfielder – Murphy To Go On Loan?

It seems Rafa will be able to sign one of his top targets this month and we expect Jordan Lukaku, who is the younger brother of Manchester United’s Romelu, to take his medical tomorrow and all being well will sign along the bottom line.

Depending on how he is the 24-year-old left-back could even appear for Newcastle in the FA Cup 4th round tie against Watford at home on Saturday.

Rafa also wants a winger and a striker brought in – at least.

But there is news from Spain (El Mundo Deportivo) that Rafa was after Sevilla holding midfielder Ibrahim Amadou on a loan deal.

That’s probably so Newcastle could allow Isaac Hayden to leave the club this month.

24-year-old holding midfielder Ibrahim Amadou

Fulham were also interested in Amadou who is short of first-team games this season.

But while it’s not yet certain, it seems the player wants to stay at Sevilla and fight for his place in the side, but Rafa has excellent persuasive powers when he needs them.

Amadou only signed for the Spanish club from Lille last summer in a £9M transfer on a four-year deal and is having trouble settling in Spain.

The report also says that Sevilla are likely to keep him at the club for the rest of this season.

The player was born in Douala, Cameroon and moved to France at the young age of 4 and lived in Colombo, where he started to play for the local club AS Cheminots de l’Ouest.

He moved to Nancy in 2008 before moving to Lille in 2015.

There’s also a report from Football Insider that Jacob Murphy may be on his way on loan to West Brom, where Dwight Gayle is on loan for the season.

Murphy has struggled since we signed him from Norwich City 18 months ago for £12M and he could be up for sale this summer.

What do you think?

Comments welcome.

wynsleap, I guess all political processes move slowly. However, they all have to start somewhere and Chi Onwurah will be hoping that if this picks up some momentum it can snowball. I’m pleased that other clubs were mentioned, their fans will pick up on it and the MPs that represent the relevant constituencies will maybe jump on the bandwagon.

There was never going to be an enquiry called purely because of the goings on at NUFC and if there was I think the press would have a field day. What Chi did was to light a fire which could sputter and die but could spread and rage until the wider political machine has to pay attention. At that point, stronger rules will be introduced which will severely discomfit our oh-so-worthy leader, plus many other owners of a similar ilk to him.

This lad Lukaku is a beast of a boy… Built like rondon and very fast, he’s a tank in my opinion, I hope we have an obligation to buy, at 24 he fits the fat controllers model though as he will be worth good money when he gets in as a regular somewhere. He’s not getting much game time this season but that’s because Lazio have some very good options all down their left side.

Lots of people on here have good points and talk a lot of sense, but a lot of these points never heard or seen by the masses, no disrespect to Ed but you never see him quoting from his own pages. The video from the debate today got 22000 views in an hour on twitter. My point is we need to be saying these things to the many not the few. Wonder if Ed could set a Twitter account up so our voices can be heard by the masses.

Cheers again for that mate, let’s just hope he signs and not some other huge contender like Bournemouth or Crystal palace come in for him.

Looking forward to seeing him get a chance now.

In my opinion the reason he is trying to buy the entire high street is to make himself too big to fail or be charged
He has to keep it going or it will all fall in on itself

You think that all of those people who help him make money disappear one will eventually dob him in for his crimes ?

You think everyone who works for him are going to turn a blind eye forever ?

The biggest concern we have is Rondon getting an injury. We had a clear problem at left back with depth at left back. Now we need a centre forward.

    ………………………Dubravka.
    …………..Scharr…Ferdinand…Lejeune..
    ….Yedlin…………Shelvey…Ki………….Lukaku..
    ……………….Perez…………..Muto..
    ………………………..Rondon..

With variations off the bench we are, ie Diame, Kenedy, Lascelles, Dummett, Ritchie etc we are looking a side that would have enough, but you don’t want Joselu starting if Rondon gets hurt.

Rafa is playing with a big CF as he cant afford a quick one who can hit the target
So Rondon has to hold the ball up

    Unless we get lucky

    sitc,
If there ever was a sale and a consortium spent fortunes on due diligence then ran a mile as did Staveley is anyone else going to do the same again. If he’s got us as NUFC tied up so tight will we be able to exist under our current name free from his shackles.

    Lee Charnley Bunga Party,
It makes you wonder if Rafa didn’t waste too much time on getting Muto up to speed, so that he didn’t become to integral to the team before shooting off in a crucial part of the season. He’s had a decent taste of PL football and might end up playing a big part when back from the games.

Was talking to a massive rangers fan yesterday through work .
Was saying same things as us about the way ashlie carried on up there .
Seemed to think they will never be truly shot of him with the merchandise carry on.
He was confused however at why we put up with him this long and why we don’t protest ?
“Thought you geordies were mental enough to have knocked him owa by now !’ lol
I gave him a few links and told him about the podcast with the rangers guys on this but it shows something much bigger than a gathering outside his shop is required .

I actually think he brought in Rondon because he likes that type of player at center forward, not because he was the best we could get to make up for a squad light on attacking quality. He’s big, strong, has good touch, finishes off the ground and in the air, holds it up, runs in behind, can run at defenders and also batter them, and can also lead the press. I don’t think he’s using Rondon to make do. I think he really likes him, and he’s been very good for us.

Stavely didn’t run a mile but tables a couple of bids – one conditional upon avoiding relegation and the other not. She went public even so far they were still on the table even after Ashley had rubbished her as,a time waster.

I’d imagine her bids were what she saw as realistic Valuations but as ever, Ashley’s greed got in the way.

Why in heavens name can’t he be like most and accept a reasonable profit on his original investment? Or had he got to squeeze every last penny of profit out of buyers.

Could be right although Muto originally was not meant to go to the Asian cup he came pretty late to the party!

I like Rondon Newcastle should always have a big striker like him whether hes a starter or off the bench if we could get a bit more pace around him he would be unplayable!

lesh, my daughter’s at High School. I’m pretty sure she’s heard worse, judging by the language I hear regularly on the metro from kids her age.

I remember walking through a park with my Dad – I was about 9ish and we saw some grafitti on the wall of a toilet block saying “f*k off”

I turned to my old man and said, Dad, that’s spelt wrong, it should have a ‘c’ in it.
