Benitez In Talks To Sign Sevilla Midfielder – Murphy To Go On Loan?

It seems Rafa will be able to sign one of his top targets this month and we expect Jordan Lukaku, who is the younger brother of Manchester United’s Romelu, to take his medical tomorrow and all being well will sign along the bottom line.

Depending on how he is the 24-year-old left-back could even appear for Newcastle in the FA Cup 4th round tie against Watford at home on Saturday.

Rafa also wants a winger and a striker brought in – at least.

But there is news from Spain (El Mundo Deportivo) that Rafa was after Sevilla holding midfielder Ibrahim Amadou on a loan deal.

That’s probably so Newcastle could allow Isaac Hayden to leave the club this month.

Fulham were also interested in Amadou who is short of first-team games this season.

But while it’s not yet certain, it seems the player wants to stay at Sevilla and fight for his place in the side, but Rafa has excellent persuasive powers when he needs them.

Amadou only signed for the Spanish club from Lille last summer in a £9M transfer on a four-year deal and is having trouble settling in Spain.

The report also says that Sevilla are likely to keep him at the club for the rest of this season.

The player was born in Douala, Cameroon and moved to France at the young age of 4 and lived in Colombo, where he started to play for the local club AS Cheminots de l’Ouest.

He moved to Nancy in 2008 before moving to Lille in 2015.

There’s also a report from Football Insider that Jacob Murphy may be on his way on loan to West Brom, where Dwight Gayle is on loan for the season.

Murphy has struggled since we signed him from Norwich City 18 months ago for £12M and he could be up for sale this summer.

What do you think?

    It has merit
If we are going to play 5 at the back vs City
    we should get some corners.

We have CB’s more than capable of scoring from
    corners

Jib we also have centre backs capable of scoring Worldies from the halfway line.

I reckon wor Fabian may get a little more attention from midfielders in the future.

I also agree with you on Roberts. I think he will start as will Woody

I’d rather Rafa prioritised the FA Cup.

At the end of the day he wont he here next year, so why not just go all out to give the and a trophy. He doesn’t need to worry about any repercussions from Ashley.

Maybe the fans’ campaign against Ashley’s running of the club might be helped by another open letter to Ashley but this time building on his failure to sanction a sensible level of spend this window. It could be useful, especially in the light of Parliament and the football authorities’ requirement for club’s to engage with fans rather than just comply at the minimum level. Ashley’s failure to even acknowledge the last open letter let alone respond could be of advantage.

If The Magpie Group want to gain some strategic advantage and traction, it should build on the issues raised by Chi Onuwara and call off their proposal for a mass sit in after the Citeh match. It’s never going to happen and again, how do they call it off without losing face. Could a few thousand very cheap, sub-standard tennis balls be sourced by some enterprising person by Tuesday? No chance. A few thousand buns maybe? Nah, probably too late.

And, back to the point, how about a concerted bombardment of the SD, FA and EPL Twitter and Facebook by fans? Short, sharp and inoffensive messages won’t invite criticism bits campaign would need to be well planned and actioned.

Anyway, enough drivel which I haven’t proofed so yes, it’ll contain typos and grammatical errors. I’ll mark the post at 2/10, just to save you, Jib, the effort.

I’d rather roberts had a start that Diame when he’s back fit. He’s doing a good job and half a season of prem football under Rafa will probably set him up well for the future.

How many times do you see good young players only get a chance in the premier league because of injury. It happens across every team, makes you wonder why clubs don’t back them more instead of signing poor players.

If Ashley was serious and genuine about selling which I think we all know isn’t true , why could he not come to an arrangement with Kenyon’s investors to pay the shortfall in instalments. It has been suggested previously that he is open to this as I’m sure he is but only when some mug allows him to retain the free advertising and revenue streams.
If the letter that was leaked is to be believed then Ashley has had serious buyers trying to buy. With two willing participants deals get done it’s that simple.

If the club isn’t sold again due to Ashley’s greed then he really deserves all that I hope is coming his way.
If the club’s PR are reading this please go back and tell Mike Ashley that the fans of this club and the Geordie nation have well and truly seen what Ashley is and what he’s doing to our club.
We are heartily sick of this greedy, horrible, selfish, uncaring man owning our club.

I’m quite enjoying the Toon22 debate.

I think it’s funny that he’s being used as a stick to beat the anti Ashley section with.

Talks of cliques coming from cliques, it’s too funny. The hypocrisy of it all.

He maybe repetative but no more so than a few of the Rafa out brigade..

The ones who moan about him the most are just upset he’s stole their spotlight.

I can take him or leave him, I don’t care, I doubt I’ve read 5% of his posts.

As for driving decent posters off the blog, Bollocks, it’s a public forum, he’s as much right as anyone, it’s a bit pathetic to harass someone for repeating themselves but say nothing about racism etc.. Hang your heads.
