Jacob Murphy is at West Brom waiting to sign a loan deal for the rest of the season at the Championship club.
If Rafa is letting Murphy go on loan to West Brom it will only happen once 24-year-old Nantes winger Anthony Limbombe agrees to sign for Newcastle on loan with an option to buy this summer.
There were some doubts earlier today that the deal would go through.
But it now looks like that deal is could happen which is why Jacob was allowed to travel to West Brom.
There were reports earlier today that Newcastle tried to link the Murphy loan deal to extending Salomon Rondon’s loan deal at Newcastle through next season.
But that was all complicated to do on the very last day of the transfer window.
23-year-old Nantes left winger Anthony Limbombe – looks like he’s coming in on loan
Rafa wants Rondon at the club permanently and his loan deal ends at the end of the season when he will have one year left on his West Brom contract.
That’s something that needs to be worked out in the summer with Rondon desperate to have a permanent move to the Magpies.
Rafa wanted Belgian International Limbombe last summer when he was at FC Brugge but failed to get him, but now it seems he will get him at the second attempt.
It seems that Andreas Samaris will not be arriving on Tyneside today so Isaac Hayden will stay with us for the rest of the season.
