Fans were disappointed that we conceded a poor goal and could have taken a point at Wembley against Tottenham today.
It was a late mistake after 83 minutes by our goalkeeper Dubravka but Martin has played so well for us it’s a pity we lost this way.
He let a Son shot directly at him slip past him and over the lines – but he’s getting a lot of backing from the Geordie fans.
And one Atlanta fan watched the game and said that our new signing Miguel Almiron will offer an awful lot going forward – we’ll be a lot more of an attacking side with him in the starting eleven.
Hope so.
Martin Dubravka lets the ball slip through his fingers for Spurs winning goal
Newcastle played well again today and we were a little unlucky not to get a hard-fought point.
Hey #NUFC I am #ATLUTD fan and just watched my first Newcastle game vs Tottenham. Y’all are gonna have a knee slappin’ good time watching Miggy burn people up on the counter. Get excited! You’re about to be a much more dangerous team!

@HecoDubravka still the best goal keeper on the planet

I really can not believe what I have been reading. Someone called Dubravka a donkey keeper. An actual Newcastle fan. Top players have off days. @alanshearer didn’t play well every game and missed chances or costly penalties. It’s about bounding back from these mistakes #NUFC

Gutted about the loss ?.
That being said, 3pts from those 2 fixtures is nothing to sniff at ?#NUFC

Gutted for Dubravka #NUFC

Lads stuck to game plan well. Unlucky. Thought Lascelles was superb today. Onwards & upwards #NUFC

Would be good to see:
Dubravka
Lejuene Lascelles Schär
Yedlin Barreca
Ki Diame
Perez Almiron
RondonBench:
Woodman, Fernandez, Ritchie, Longstaff, Shelvey, Atsu, Muto.Kenedy can bugger off at the minute. #NUFC

Rondon was so unlucky with that header against the post on the hour #NUFC

Against Man City and Spurs I’d have taken 2 points. We ended up with 3 in total. The team has played well for 180 minutes against top sides, I think we can be happy #nufc

Weird game today. Looked nervous in defence, midfield not as solid as against Man City but much more confident going forward. Draw would have been nice but tbh we’d all have taken 3 pts from 6 a week ago #NUFC

Longstaff has a bit of Carrick about him. First time actually watching him play today, very tidy midfielder. #nufc
— Daniel Mole (@danielmole92) February 2, 2019
Yeah, Spurs were the better team, but to lose late on as a result of a mistake by someone who rarely makes them is gutting, especially given how good the defensive unit was, positionally and effort-wise. #TOTNEW #NUFC

WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO,?
we win so rarely now, that when we do, all i get is total abuse, because your somehow proved right after the odd win. i get, you see , his tactics work.
they clearly dont, but you all hold him up as a god because you THINK he is on your side, he tows the party line to get his6 million a year, and he gets that in what ever league he is in.
you say look at his trophies, but the story behind does not paint a nice picture of him,, but that part is totally ignored.

Comment #3Another crushing defeat for Huddersfield. They’re gone.
Fulham beaten.
Burnley and Southampton looks like a draw, keeping them both beneath us on GD.
Hopefully Bournemouth do Cardiff in the evening kick-off and it’ll be a decent day despite defeat.

you are supposed to support the team. All the woulda coulda shoulda about Rafa is worthless. Picking out that Dubby may be better with reaction saves as opposed to long shots is ok. Noticing that Lascelles did a lot better than he has since coming back and was showing some passion again is ok. Other people having a different opinion is OK.

Comment #7Catchy, you were nowhere to be seen for days after we won against citeh, you only come on here when we lose. Just F.O. under your bridge/fjord as that’s where trolls belong.
FYI, I’m not a Rafa apologist, he makes mistakes like all of us, I’d love to see ashLIE either F.O. or invest in our club, sadly i don’t think he’ll do either.
Speaking of ashLIE, I wonder which team he was supporting today.
