The Chronicle has an exclusive today in an interview with Miguel Almiron’s uncle Diego.
It seems Miguel has been waiting for some time for Newcastle to make the deal, and it seems we have been interested in the player since the summer of 2017.
Ever since the Magpies have been interested Miguel has been more than keen to sign for Newcastle and it finally happened a week ago.
But it takes time for owner Mike Ashley to come up with any kind of money – but we have signed him now – and that’s the main thing.
Miguel Almiron with Uncle Diego
Miguel is a family man and it looks like his whole family watches his games and supports him in reaching his football dreams.
This is some of what Uncle Diego told ChronicleLive today.
“The wait for the transfer was very long – we were all very anxious – but we had faith that it was going to happen,”
“Miguel is very happy to come to Newcastle because he is fulfilling one of his dreams from when he was a boy and playing in one of the best leagues in the world.”
“He is very excited and can’t wait to get started.”
“We are all very proud to see him achieve his goal of playing in Europe.”
“It’s all thanks to the sacrifices he made and the hard work he put in and that dedication has always gone hand in hand with his achievements.”
“He has been an excellent nephew and we have always had a close relationship ever since he was a boy.”
“He is a wonderful boy and loves his family.”
Miguel Almiron trained with his new teammates yesterday.
The game on Monday is also being televised live around the world so we expect his family to be watching him in Paraguay.
Ashley is probably already trying to sell Almiron’s shirt in that country and South America in general.
We need to go all out for a win at Molineux – we need the 3 points.
