Rafa has just named the Newcastle team to play against Wolves at Molineux tonight in another crucial game, with Newcastle now in 4th bottom place and above the relegation zone on goal difference only.
Rafa has kept faith with Isaac Hayden and Sean Longstaff in central midfield after some good performances from both players recently.
Mo Diame is on the bench but no place for Korean Ki Sung-yueng – now fit again.
Isaac Hayden – keeps his place
The back five is unchanged with Matt Ritchie again at left (wing) back with Atsu on the left wing.
We really hope we can take something out of this game and move off 4th bottom place in the league tonight.

Comment #8Hayden done ok recently for his standards but is very limited and anything going forward through him breaks down.
I would have just put Almiron in from the start also so disappointing that Rafa took the low risk option but hey what did we expect.
Manquillo over berreca also if that shows the standard of player he is send him back now.

Comment #9Expected line up I suppose. Almiron might get on but only if we are losing after 70 mins.

Comment #10Underwhelmed by that line up – out for a point. Be lucky to see Almiron start for about 5 games – Rafa loves Perez. Where is the new left back ??? Fingers crossed.

Comment #13Oh well, at least we have an exciting option on the bench if thinks go pear shaped, eh? 2-0 with half an hour to go, Rafa can say to the lad ‘Go on, go out there and have some fun. No pressure. See what you can do’

Comment #16Wolves: Patricio, Otto, Boly, Coady (c), Doherty; Nevez, Moutinho, Dendoncker; Diogo, Jimenez.
(Expected to be a variation between 5-3-2 to 3-5-2)
Subs: Ruddy, Cavaleiro, Costa, Gibbs-White, Saiss, Vinagre, Adama.

Comment #17This looks like another game of contain and break… Hopefully Almiron the locksmith gets at least a 3rd of the game.
If no injuries in game I would fully expect Almiron, Diame and Kennedy to be the tactical changes after the 65th minute mark.
Hayden, Perez and Atsu the casualties in game and in no particular order

Think about it . New player on his off season, ie US, not Europe and hasn’t played for ages and has to get up to speed with the pace of the PL. Hopefully tired wolves defenders legs second half.

Comment #24It is strange seeing Fernandez on the bench. I would have had him down for player of the season had he continued in the side. A healthy sign of competition though.

Comment #26Lesh I too have had a response to my email. I’ll share in kind when I’m able.
It’s important that an issue which means a great deal to so many in the North East is addressed by a prominent North East politician. If you and I and the Magpie group and whoever else can encourage that then I’ll be happy.

Comment #28It makes sense for Rafa to keep faith with a team which has been playing well and then work in the returning players and new signings whilst away in Portugal. It is slightly disappointing however.
Very pleased to see Longstaff and Hayden partnered in midfield again they do complement each other well

I may be going blind in my dotage but I couldn’t find an email address for TMG. I had to resort to Facebook to ask TMG for an em address to copy them in. I’d be disappointed if TMG’s not on the case. Anyway, onward and upward……….
