Rafa Benitez Has Concerns About Huddersfield Game

The game at home against bottom club Huddersfield Town on Saturday will not be easy.

And Rafa is reported to be concerned the players could take the match too lightly and expect to win easily.

Rafa points out it will not be easy and that it’s a vital match for Newcastle and all 3 points can help us survive the drop this season.

We are just one point above 3rd bottom Southampton in the league right now.

It’s likely the Terriers will be relegated – but last season we lost 1-0 to West Brom at home when it was clear they would be relegated.

We cannot allow that to happen with the Terriers.

This is what Rafa has said in the Chronicle today:

“It will be a massive game.”

“But all of the games for us to the end of the season will be like finals.”

“The next one, against a team at the bottom of the table, people are expecting it will be an easy game but I do not see it that way.”

“Their manager says they will fight until the end.”

“We approach the game with confidence but we must also show some respect.”

Fans may also expect an easy win but this game will be challenging and there will be tensions on both sides.

Newcastle must be confident and try to get some early goals in the game.

But it could be close.

What do you think?

Huddersfield, with pressure off as they are almost sure to go down, and knowing our fallibility at home, will be giving it a real good go.
If we don’t match them in desire and effort, we’ll lose this one and be one step closer ourselves to the drop.
Rafa we trust you to get our lads up for this pivotal game.

    Mag52,
I seriously don’t want us to go down, as a fan it’s instinctive to want to see the team do well but if Rafa isn’t staying is there really any point in staying in this division to see us get beat most weeks while not scoring many goals, despite what his detractors think, the football is not going to drastically improve when a new manager comes in. I can’t see much investment either after the fat man has just spent 21M slackers on a single player.

Rafa is right, Huddersfield should see this game as where they turn their season around. If NUFC score early and win by a few, the Terriers may pack it in for the season and not win again this year. That means all of the “Not Top 6” teams will also get 3 points from them. So, to maintain position vs. NUFC level clubs, a win is quite important.
