Rafa Wants This Player’s Future Sorted Before He Pens New Deal

Rafa Benitez wants Salomon Rondon signed permanently as soon as possible.

And that’s not too surprising given how the Venezuelan has become a crucial player in the Newcastle team.

His hold-up play is first class and he’s scored 7 goals with 3 assists for us this term and looks the part up front.

Part of the problem with signing Rondon full time is owner Mike Ashley.

Rondon will be 30 in September and Ashley would like to sign younger players.

But the signing of Rondon will be one the things Rafa wants sorted before he signs a new deal to stay at Newcastle.

Salomon Rondon – huge success at Newcastle

Or at least be assured by Ashley that Rondon will be signed in the summer.

The fact that Newcastle tried to sort out Rondon’s future late in the January window suggests Rafa is desperate to have the Venezuelan at Newcastle on a permanent basis.

West Brom reportedly wanted £15M for him in January and that’s a lot when you think he has only one year left on his contract at West Brom.

Mike Ashley will try to get him to the club for the lowest possible cost.

Maybe a loan deal for the last year of his contract is possible, but it could be a high loan fee for him, but then he would be a free agent next summer.

He was Rafa’s first choice in last summer’s transfer window and fans can now see why.

Rafa would perhaps be willing to offer Jacob Murphy in part exchange.

But we have a feeling the manager wants striker Dwight Gayle back at Newcastle next season.

We need a lot more strike power in the side next season.

What do you think?

Sign him up, get him a permanent seat on the Toon rollercoaster.
    Hopefully you enjoy your ride!

Will the new manager fancy him though for his style of tikka tacca football, he might fancy an Aguero type of player instead 😮

The new Aguero for under 10M, 23 years old, no PL experience with a sell on value of 75M, old man Carr needs to be getting his binoculars out in May I think.

Seriously though if they don’t sign Rondon then a striker needs to be bought. 22M will get you Troy Deeney, Callum Wilson or Josh King???? I reckon Charlie Austin or Shane Long will fetch 12/15M for twenty games a season, Sturridge would want 120K a week. Now that Jorgensøn is a shell of his former self after having Mike and Lee shatter his dreams we could maybe get him for around 15M. Muto and Perez aren’t going to score enough to keep us afloat. Oh, I forgot about Joselu.

    geordietom,
He’s not exactly been on fire lately and he’ll want 100K+ a week. I wonder who the recruitment team that is external to Rafa is headed by or is it just that agency Carr dealt with suggesting players to Churnley.

We still need to sign a player for each side of the pitch that can do better than a 90% strike rate into the ‘nads of the first man. One would be a start.

Off topic but I noticed on the BBC in an article about Sarri a list of most mangers in the Premiership era – guess who is at the top? 😀

Most managers in the Premier League era
    Including caretaker/interim managers
    22 Newcastle
    21 Chelsea, Tottenham
    20 Southampton
    18 Aston Villa, Crystal Palace
    16 West Brom

Geordietom, Giroud would be a decent option hes got a decent head and shot on him like. Wouldnt mind seeing him lead the line.
Truthfully if we sign rondon we need a dwight gayle but who can score in the prem.
Going to be a costly window.
We deffo need 2 strikers next year like.

…depending on the angle the cross comes in at it could be either a “cannon” or a “split” shot I suppose…

Seriously though some games Ritchie infuriates with his reliability at striking the first man it enrages me no end sometimes when I compare his wages with mine and I’m certain i could get a better cross in. 😀

It’s a shame because he runs himself ragged to get into crossing positions.

Sarri not worried about his future?
I bet! As alluded to earlier, the best thing he can do is get sacked, he will be RICH!
Is he going to lose his job? Yeah, a different question, but definitely yeah.
A squad full of amazing talent like Hazard, Willian… None of them wanna play for him.

    FA cup: OOT
Caribou cup final: (not a cat in hells chance of beating Man City at the weekend,I would suggest)
Champions league qualification: slipping further away from it…
STUFFINGS recently by teams like Bournemouth…

If and it’s a really big IF we get Ronnie then will we take Gayle back? Rafa has started and hopefully not finished with getting some speed into the team, with Ronnie’s hold up play is Rafa thinking, target Ronnie and having Gayle and Miggy playing off of him with there pace.
I feel most defenders will not like two speed demons and a hulk pushing them around.

Well everything I said means Jackshit unless Pinky and the Brain sign the most important signing ever, Rafa!!!!!!
