Can Newcastle Start A Winning Streak Against Huddersfield On Saturday?

It’s now February and Rafa has still not signed any new deal to stay at Newcastle past June.

That’s a concern but Rafa will not sign anything until he has Newcastle safe in the Premier League; we are currently 5th bottom and just one point above the relegation zone.

Newcastle have two crucial home games coming up against Huddersfield Town on Saturday and Burnley on Wednesday night.

We need to win both those games, but it will not be easy.

First things first and we face Huddersfield Town on Saturday and most fans think we can win this game easily.

But the Terriers are still fighting for their lives and it is going to be a tough game.

Miguel Almiron will make his home debut on Saturday

That’s especially true if we keep missing the chances we create – which was evident last Saturday in the friendly against CSKA Moscow.

A defeat on Saturday would be a disaster – and I wish I hadn’t even mentioned that!

What we are hoping for is that we can start to string together a number of wins and move away from the relegation zone.

We won four games in a row last season and that did the trick.

It’s one game at a time and we must ensure we take all 3 points on Saturday and that’s not a given.

6 points from the next two games would see most breathe a collective sigh of relief as it would give us some breathing space.

4 points would see some furrowed brows.

3 points would be squeaky bum time.

0 or 1 point would make the rest of the season quite tense, to say the least.

Frankly, these next two games are quite important.

Rob, much as I would prefer 6 points, I will be relatively pleased with 4. All the teams down this end of the table are scrapping for every point at this stage of the season. I can actually see 2 tough, but winnable games. Fingers crossed we get the 6 points.
