Newcastle United are being linked with 22-year-old Brazilian striker Joelinton who signed for Hoffenheim in the summer of 2016 from Brazilian club Sport Recife.
In June 2016, Joelinton was immediately loaned to Rapid Wien for two years, but he is now back playing for the German club and has scored 10 goals and 8 assists in 28 total appearances this season.
And in his two seasons at Rapid Vienna, he played 79 times with 21 goals and 9 assists.
Reports out of Germany say that Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez is interested in signing the striker this summer.
And the Chronicle reports that Newcastle scouts have indeed regularly been watching the 6ft 1ins tall center forward in Germany.
Interested clubs have been warned that a fee of €60M would be needed to secure the Brazilian, and if that is true, there’s no way Newcastle will be bringing this player in during the summer.
But Newcastle are still monitoring the player in spite of that high potential transfer fee.
And we may see Newcastle put in a bid for the Brazilian this summer – if Rafa decides to stay at the club.
Joelinton was capped 4 times by the Brazil U17 side and scored two goals.
