Who Was Newcastle’s Man Of The Match In Massive Win Over Terriers?

Yesterday was only the 7th time we have won a league game since last year when we took Chelsea apart at home 3-0 on 13th May in the final game of last season.

The 2-0 win against Huddersfield yesterday was just what we needed, and we were helped a lot when Tommy Smith was sent off with a straight red card for a dangerous tackle on new-boy Almiron after only 20 minutes.

We were a lot more dangerous in the final third yesterday thanks to live-wire Almiron, and we are a little unlucky to score only two goals; we hit the woodwork quite a few times.

The goalscorers were Rondon and Perez early in the second half to seal the win.

Sean Longstaff – had another impressive game in the middle of the park

Now we face Burnley at home on Tuesday night, and a win in that game will take us closer to safety in the league table.

Burnley beat Tottenham 2-1 at home yesterday, and they are in good form.

Longstaff is the best player to come through since Gazza! He just “has it” and we need to look after him; reminds me of Carrick but this one didn’t get away! Loving the team at the moment what with Shelvey, Ki and Mutu still to come in if needed and we have the best centre defence and goalie since the year dot!

The top two in the poll garnered so many votes it undervalued the input of the rest of the team.
