There’s an article in Fox Sports today on the potential future of Huddersfield Town playmaker Aaron Mooy.
The Australian moved from Melbourne City to Manchester City in 2016 and was on loan at the Terriers during their promotion season in 2016-2017.
Mooy signed permanently for Huddersfield in the summer of 2017 on a three year deal with a possible one-year extension.
Rafa was interested in signing Mooy in both 2016 and the next year so he could be a target for Newcastle this summer.
We need more creativity in the Newcastle side and Mooy can provide that.

With Diame’s contract up in the summer, Isaac Hayden wanting to leave the club and West Ham wanting Jonjo Shelvey for £20M Rafa could shake up the central midfield this summer.
21-year-old Sean Longstaff has come through this season and looks like a really top player of the future.
Fox Sports pundit Simon Hill has said this about the club Mooy, whose wife is Scottish, could join this summer:
“I just wonder whether a return to the Scottish Premier League could be on the cards with maybe a Rangers.
“I’m not saying it would be the best thing for his career but maybe to go to one of the big two, probably not Celtic because they’ve got Tommy Rogic but you never know.”
“I just wonder whether that might be a possibility.
“Or maybe somewhere like a Newcastle. Let’s be honest, he’s not going to go to Man United or Man City or Liverpool, Spurs, Chelsea etc.”
“But I think that the next tier down of club is a possibility.”
Mooy’s contract runs out next summer, but the Terriers are likely to want to keep the Australian International at the club for a promotion effort next season.
The question is whether Mooy wants to stay in Yorkshire in the Championship or move on to pastures new.
It’s reported that Rafa wants to bring in five new players in the summer to rejuvenate the squad.
