Fabian Schar has deservedly won the Premier League Goal of the Month for February with that amazing 30-yard strike at home to Burnley.
Javier Manquillo rolled the ball to him, he took it forward a yard before unleashing an incredible drive the went in off the post and gave Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton no chance.
Fabian saw off competition from four other players- former Newcastle midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, now at Liverpool, his team-mate Sadio Mane and Manchester United players Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.
Fabian Schar – wins Premier League Goal of the Month for February
This is what Fabian has said about the award:
“I just had some space, tried to do something, and shoot – yeah, it was not too bad.”
“It’s special for me – I’ve never won a trophy like this and it probably will be my last one.”
“It’s nice to have scored a goal like this and it was special of course because of the victory in the game.”
“That’s the most important thing.” “I don’t score too many goals and this is probably one of the best.”
Maybe Schar can score tomorrow at home to Everton?
