41-year-old former Hull and Watford boss Marco Silva is respectful of Newcastle’s capabilities for tomorrow’s clash at St. James’ Park.
Silva was appointed manager of Everton in May of last year after he had been dismissed by Watford in January of last year.
Silva has been managing in the Premier League for two years after taking over at relegation-threatened Hull in January 2017.
Everton are currently in 10th place in the Premier League after the 29 games played on 37 points and 6 points ahead of Newcastle.
The gap could close to 3 points if we can win this game tomorrow.
Everton boss Marco Silva – Newcastle are strong defensively
This is what Marco Silva has said in the lead up to the vital game tomorrow as reported in the Chronicle:
“They are always a solid team. They are very strong in their defensive organization.”
“They have always got five men in their back line and with four players in front of them who are really solid.”
“They do not concede many goals and they are really strong on the counter-attack, too.”
“We will have to do our best and give everything to win the match.”
“It was a good week for us, there are no doubts about that.” “It would have been perfect if we could have achieved the six points.”
“We got an important away win, and then a draw in a tough home match with the derby.” “It was a really balanced match, which both teams were keen to win.”
“Of course it helps to grow the confidence of the players and the mood of the team.”
“We have to look for each match as a final like we did against Cardiff and in the derby.”
“We have to do our maximum to achieve the three points and do everything to finish in a good way and in a good place in the table.”
“Everything is open for us.”
With Rafa also saying each game is like a cup final we suppose tomorrow really is a cup final at St. James’ Park.
This will be a big test for our lads, and if we can win the game it will be huge!
Here’s how we stand in the league table at the moment:
