Fernandez And Diame Start Against The Cherries

Rafa Benitez has just announced the Newcastle team he will start against the Cherries at the Vitality Stadium this afternoon.

And Mo Diame has come into the starting eleven in place of Ki for his 22nd start this season – Mo must have been impressive in training.

It also looks like Rafa will play a back four with Federico Fernandez coming in for the injured Jamaal Lascelles.

Fans are fairly confident we can get the win with 60% positive about getting all 3 points.

We shall see – but another win would be tremendous.

Results elsewhere going perfectly for us too.

Demba Ba was deceptively good at free-kicks too.

Excellent run Almiron. Rondon gave keeper no chance!

A striker that can strike the ball. It’s been a while since we have one of those.
Almiron almost deserves an assist for the goal.

Great from Rondon. Those complaining about almiron is ridiculous. He had pace and energy, great on the Counterattack

I put Rondon’s 2 previous good attempts at free-kicks down to just those occasional happenings when somebody not renowned for something produces an anomaly. Hit the woodwork with both.

That confirms it though, the man has been a dark-horse free-kick specialist all his career it seems 😆

I think we have been pretty good and controlled this half would have liked us to commit some more bodies forward when attacking but then on a counter we get the goal!

That’s why we got Almiron and also from the free kick the reason we have Rondon!!! WOW that was like a Shearer pile driver!

I think they will throw the kitchen sink at us as we are facing the wind though but we can get that 2nd goal and finish the game

It makes no sense why Ashley refuses to allow us to sign Rondon. Baffling. He has power, strength and can take free kicks. Like a certain shearer.

Watching via a stream which is obviously a minute or to behind real time. Just as Almiron was fouled up popped FlashScore with Rondon scoring.

It nice to sit back and watch a free kick knowing it’s going in !

    Rondon…what a signing he’s been

first half wasnt great by either team, but newcastle really controlled the midfield. hayden and diame are real tackling talents.

Dummett probably my pick for player of the first half

Best strategy for this game seems to be to kick the ball as high as possible into the oppositions defense, because the winds really making things tough for players

We are the better team. Yes it’s true that Bournemouth have had to make changes, but so have we due to injuries. Clear penalty that we should have had also.
Can see Bournemouth finishing with 10 men

Wasn’t a pen, but Fernandez has been poor today though. On the ball and iffy moments at the back.

    Ritchie needs taking off set-pieces.
