Rafa Not Happy With Referee – But Praises His Players

Referee Mike dean never seems to have a good game when he referees a Newcastle game.

And he was true to form this afternoon when he made some strange decisions, the worst of which was a penalty for a foul by Fernandez on Ake – but you see this at almost every corner that’s taken.

Why he decided to give a penalty, we have no idea, but that was the crucial decision in the game because Bournemouth were right back in it.

It took a brilliant equalizer four minutes into stoppage time for Newcastle to equalized and get the point they deserved this afternoon.

Paul Dummett – amazing goal-line clearance from the full-back

This is some of What Rafa said, and he’s not impressed with the referee:

“We are not happy with a lot of things. If you analyze situations in the first half, DeAndre was fouled in the box.”

“The penalty against us. You’re talking about things there where we have different opinions (from the referee ).”

“Some decisions you need to have VAR and you have to make sure you get the decisions right.”

“There were too many decisions that didn’t go our way today. To be sure for the future and we can improve that.”

“I will have to check but if you give a penalty like that, then you have to give 100 in every game.”

“The performance of the team was very good and then everything changed in the first minute of the second half and we would like to have these situations fairer in the future.”

“It changes everything in the second half, we were winning one nil and you can take risks and we were not very happy after that goal.”

“But it is not the first time we have had difficult situations and the reaction has been very positive.”

“Bournemouth are a good team and they attack quite well and we did what we had to do to create chances.”

“Defenders did well against a good offensive team and it was not easy for them but they did well.”

“It’s a great goal from Ritchie and we were pushing until the end.”

“That is football.”

There were some excellent performances from the Newcastle players with Ritchie, Rondon, and Dummett all outstanding.

Dummett was captain for the day, and he made an excellent clearance off the line (shown above) that saved Newcastle – you can understand why he’s so trusted by the manager.

At the end of the day, it was a good point for Newcastle.

Jail… That’s why I’m perplexed, there is no tactical advantage to Richie passing the ball to Miggy this little. So I don’t think its tactical. I think Richie doesn’t like the positions he runs into and I think he thinks there is always a safer person to pass it infield to.

But whatever reason it is, he needs to start passing to Miggy its getting beyond a joke, if you look at Richie you can sometimes see him purposefully not looking miggys direction so he doesn’t feel compelled to pass it to him.

Its getting obvious now by the sheer way he’s trying to cover up the fact he doesn’t want to pass it to him. Maybe I’m reading too much into it.

Yep Lesh, I have actually lost count the amount of times 1 team had let me down for thousands lol.

You lays ya bets and takes ya chances.

I try to look at it as 50p lost rather than the thousands that have slipped away (hard to do when its that close) ha

Jane I posted the accumulators a couple of threads back. At its hight it was 6 or 7 hundred pounds.

Mind I thought Callum Wilson was off form today
Normally a header from him would have left Dummett
with no chance of a goal line clearance

This pic doing the rounds should be used as evidence
The ref is standing still looking straight at the foul

If he cant see that from that distance while standing still ,with a clear line of sight he shouldnt be a ref

Ritchie gets a high percentage of the ball but never does much with it.
I posted a half time in Almirons first game the Ritchie was not possing to him. Other posters have mentioned the same.
I now really think he does not want to pass to Almiron as he sees him as a threat to him in the team. Rightly or wrongly.

Ritchie works hard tracking back and forward but produces next to nothing.
